Job Description
The MarketAxess Business Management team is seeking a Data Analyst to support the team’s global efforts in providing data and analytics to our customers and salespeople. This person will also work with the global Research team, which has begun a broad effort to roll out Tableau across the firm as the platform for creating and sharing interactive analytics. This person will be an integral part of MarketAxess’ efforts to develop a reporting and analytics platform in Tableau that will be deployed to our customers (dealers, asset managers, hedge funds, insurance companies, etc) and salespeople, and work closely with MicroStrategy (MIS) analytics platform to optimize and enhance our internal and external reporting. Our data analyst will become a trusted partner of the sales team as we work to minimize internal reporting by providing customer data directly to our external users.
We are open to remote candidates, however they must be able to work EST hours.
What You’ll Do
- Help guide the deployment of Tableau within the organization to serve both internal stakeholders and external clients
- Design, implement, and maintain a set of standards for Tableau dashboards on behalf of the sales team in partnership with Research
- Work with stakeholders and end-users to optimize their usage of Tableau, MIS and other data-based sales tools
- Develop and maintain reports and dashboards for the Sales team to support external trading customers
- Leverage both Tableau Desktop, Tableau Server, MIS
- Assist internal stakeholders Sales on using Tableau and MIS to support business objectives
- Respond to ad-hoc data queries from Sales, sourcing data using SQL and/or Tableau, MIS
- Build and maintain Tableau and MIS reports and dashboards with analytics to support the global Sales team and the trading business
- Periodic reporting and analytics on fixed-income market trends and trading system activity
What You Bring to the Table
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, preferably in a quantitative field (finance, statistics, business)
- 1-3 years of relevant work experience
- Some understanding of (or interest in) financial markets is preferred
- 1+ years of work experience using SQL, Tableau Desktop/Server and/or MicroStrategy, and programming using Python/AWS
- Advanced Excel skills are preferred
- Experience with programming languages for data analysis is a plus (Python and/or R)
- Experience with AWS is a plus
