We are seeking an experienced and hands-on Senior Engineering Manager to lead one of our Cloud and Developer Enablement Platform teams. The team is responsible for building a Cloud platform that enables teams to create products at scale and power our application modernization plans. In addition, the team is building a cutting-edge technology framework that facilitates developer productivity with quality and security being integrated into the fabric of the products and services. Being passionate about developer efficiency, reducing development toil, and automating as much of the development process as possible is critical.

You should be passionate about technology, software engineering, quality, and innovatively addressing business problems. You will work with the team to collaborate on software solutions and ensure exceptional software engineering practices, quality, and good documentation. It’s essential to be willing to take on new skills to meet the shifting demands of accelerating our modernization efforts to the public cloud and Kubernetes world. Feedback from your users should be something that you look forward to, as you will work closely with the platform’s end users to incorporate their needs into your roadmap and use it as a measure of success. What You’ll Do

• Mentor and lead the team in identifying and implementing well-architected, cloud-native solutions that deliver the best possible experience for our clients and engineering teams who leverage our platform
• Own the services your team delivers – from requirements gathering, design, development, testing, to production – and support the platforms that are built, while establishing repeatable processes and methods that ensure high productivity, quality, and reliability
• Leads code reviews and actively participates in providing feedback on others’ designs/code
• Participate in the review and refinement our Hybrid Multi-cloud platform’s resiliency, reliability, and performance strategy
• Ensure least privileged access to our cloud platforms to enable a zero-trust environment
• Partner and collaborate with IT Infrastructure, Security, Application, and Data Engineering teams, Enterprise Architecture and Solutions Architecture to help develop a robust, scalable Cloud and DevOps platform to drive platform adoption and continuous improvement
• Focus on improving the user experience, iteratively work towards higher degrees of usability, and relentlessly obsess about how we build, enhance and maintain the trust of the platform users
• Work with Product and Technical leadership to maximize the value the Cloud and Developer services team delivers to the firm’s technology organization
• Build a high-performance team through staff development, recruiting, and retention to support growing business needs

What You Bring to the Table

• 7 – 10+ years of progressive enterprise software engineering experience, with a minimum of 3 years of people management experience providing technical expertise. Experience leading global teams is a plus
• 3+ years of hands-on experience designing, building, deploying, and automating infrastructure & platform services in Public Clouds (AWS, GCP, and Azure) using Infrastructure as Code
• Automation and DevSecOps Pipeline tools – Ansible, Maven, Gradle, Chef, Puppet, Terraform, Cloud Formation, etc.
• Orchestration – Jenkins, GitLab CI, etc.
• Solid understanding of cloud native architectures for containerized microservices
• In-depth knowledge of software design patterns
• Experience with code quality and security tools – SonarQube, CheckMarx, Prisma, etc
• Expert level knowledge in at least one and preferably both: Java, Python
• Advanced level of Linux OS and scripting skills
• Real world experience with distributed systems, especially containers and Kubernetes; and experience with both cloud and on-premises Kubernetes deployments
• Deep understanding of cloud computing and data technologies, business drivers, emerging computing trends, and deployment options
• Strong knowledge of databases, both SQL and NoSQL, and experience with service-oriented and event-driven system architectures
• Expert in defining, designing, and developing distributed and scalable products and services
• Exceptional quantitative, analytical, and problem resolution skills
• Strong written, verbal, and team communications skills
• Ability to collaborate with team members and colleagues across the organization, as well as open attitude about sharing work-in-progress and developing ideas (from yourself and others)
• Experience with Software as a Service products and integrating multiple SaaS products
• Experience working in a dynamic, fast-paced, Agile team environment
• BS/MS degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related subject
