Job Description:
The Data Scientist Senior will collaborate with the Analytics Center of Excellence (ACE) team and Marshfield Clinic Health System (MCHS) business areas to ensure the successful development, implementation, tuning and support of assigned machine learning, modelling and predictive solutions to advance and support the MCHS strategic and business imperatives. This individual is responsible to employ various scientific disciplines including statistics, mathematics, pattern recognition, and appropriate subject matter expertise to inform policy, operational, and strategic business goals. The Data Scientist Senior will apply data science to make real and meaningful impacts throughout the organization by working directly with MCHS stakeholders.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
For positions requiring education beyond a high school diploma or equivalent, educational qualifications must be from an institution whose accreditation is recognized by the Council for Higher Education and Accreditation.
Minimum Required: Demonstrated proficiency using large data sets to find opportunities for outcome and process optimization, using models to test the effectiveness of different courses of action. Experience using a variety of data mining/data analysis methods, using a variety of data tools, building and implementing models, using/creating algorithms and creating/running simulations. Demonstrated ability to collaboratively and independently drive business results through data-based insights and exhibit the appropriate organizational change management and project management skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively with a wide range of stakeholders and functional teams. Leadership ability in addition to the following:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Data Science, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Physics, Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field and six years of relevant data science/predictive analytics experience; or
- Master’s Degree in Data Science, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Physics, Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field and four years of relevant data science/predictive analytics experience; or
- Doctoral Degree in Data Science, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Physics, Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field and two years of relevant data science/predictive analytics experience.
Preferred/Optional: Experience in healthcare clinical, health plan or related environments. Demonstrated passion for discovering solutions hidden in large data sets to improve business outcomes, through data transformation and modeling.
