General Summary/ Overview
The Financial Analyst supports the Finance Department of Spaulding Rehabilitation Network reporting primarily to the Director of Finance and Team Lead. This position works closely with financial accounting, MGB financial planning, and non-acute revenue. The Financial Analyst contributes to the department as a teammate, aiding in analytical processes, annual budget matters, monthly reporting, and ad hoc analytical tasks as assigned.
Principal Duties And Responsibilities

- Participate in the monthly financial close process which includes preparation of monthly general ledger journal entry request templates, ambulance revenue valuation, development of analytical summaries and variance analyses
- Manage the institutional billing process which involves review of charges for services provided at internal and external facilities; collaborate with third party billing representatives to propose payments and respond to inquiries; prepare monthly journal entry templates for accounting staff
- Assist in the annual budget development process; utilize the MGB wide budget system, Hyperion, to input budget assumptions, investigate and resolve issues and create reports
- Assist in preparation of statistical summary reports and analytical dashboards
- Engage in projects relating to revenue and hospital billing by using Epic EHR
- Resolve accounting, accounts payable and P&L related inquiries by analyzing data housed in PeopleSoft GL and Vision reporting systems
- In collaboration with the SRN Finance Department and applicable clinical personnel, complete project-based tasks of financial implications to various clinical operational changes and initiatives
- Responsible of review and approval of outsourced FTEs utilized by entities and reporting for month end
- Contribute to the development of clinical productivity analyses and FTE and salary analyses
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, with a concentration in Finance, Accounting or Economics preferred
- Excellent data analysis and computer skills particularly with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word applications
- Knowledge of Hyperion, Epic, Peoplesoft, EPSi, Tableau a plus
- A combination of education and experience may be substituted for requirements

Working Conditions
- Fully remote until further notice, hybrid position based at the corporate office of Mass General Brigham at Assembly Row, Somerville, with occasional travel to SRN facilities and affiliated locations
- Possible local travel to Mass General Brigham sites
