Position description
The Lead Business Intelligence Analyst serves as an internal consultant by applying high order analytics and business expertise to the Mayo Clinic’s Education Reporting and Analytics Department. They work collaboratively with the Business Intelligence Manager and act as liaison between staff and supervisor. The Lead provides work direction and assistance to the Education Reporting and Analytics (ERA) team and ensure that the work in the area of responsibility is properly completed. They assume responsibility for over-seeing that the day-to-day work in the ERA is accomplished, through communications of information, work assignments and carrying out special assignments as requested. The Lead may assume personal responsibility as the project manager for institutional projects that are complex in scope, enterprise-wide, or have significant impact across the organization. The Lead role includes timekeeping responsibilities, coordinating vacation/PTO requests and schedules for team members, participate in annual performance evaluations and conduct one on one and department meetings with team members. In addition, the Lead oversees the orientation and training of new employees in the ERA (including Student Interns and Supplementals) and handles timekeeping responsibilities and scheduling of the ERA team. The Lead will collaborate with the ERA Manager and Director to in financial planning, budgeting, and setting department strategy.
This position is 100% remote work; can work from anywhere in the U.S.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree required in Engineering Science, Business Administration, Finance or other related field with strong quantitative analytical skills with a minimum 5 years of experience in business/data analytics. Knowledge of relational databases (SQL). Experience with Tableau required.
Additional qualifications
Masterโs degree in Engineering Science, Business Administration, Finance or other related field with strong quantitative analytical skills with a minimum 3 years of experience in business/data analytics is preferred. Experience in statistical packages, preferably SAS, Python, R/R Studio, STATA or SPSS a plus.
Well-developed oral and written communication skills. Ability to prioritize, and organize various tasks on multiple, concurrent projects. Ability to work in a fast pace project environment with limited degree of supervision. Demonstrated initiative/innovation, education, software development, technical reports. Demonstrated success in project management and data intuition. Ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technically savvy internal customers. Experience with some or all of the following business intelligence tools or software is preferred: SAP Business Objects, Alteryx, Crystal Reports, MS Office Suite, Ellucian Banner, Ellucian Recruit, Blackboard, EthosCE, MedHub.
