Senior Financial/Inventory Analyst
Overview:
The senior Financial/Inventory Analyst will be responsible for aggregating and analyzing company data (financial and non-financial) and presenting the results to the organization. This position is critical to McCue’s 5-year strategic plan and will interact with various departments across the organization. This position will also oversee inventory-related issues for the organization, including writing reports, discovering, and analyzing discrepancies in the inventory and sales data, and improving the inventory control systems in place.
The Senior Financial Analyst will be responsible for the following financial analysis:
- Understand our GP SQL data structure and create various reports from GP using SQL
- Work with Controller to drive companywide business process improvement of GP workflows
- Support end-of-month financial uploads to HFM
- Support the budgeting process using Cognos TM1
- Complete monthly budget to actual and year-over-year variance analysis
- Complete Ad-Hoc financial analysis and dashboards across the organization
- Centralize data from McCue systems into data warehouses using Tableau or similar
The Senior Inventory Analyst will be responsible for the following inventory analysis:
- Analyze transactions, margins, returns, and other financial data to inform decision-makers that identify and implement process improvements as required
- Create, administer, analyze, and report on all cycle counts and physical inventory of the organization
- Resolve errors on inventory transactions, maintain system accuracy for all inventory including 3rd party and manage adjustments and scraps according to established guidelines
- Responsible for analyzing data and generating monthly dashboards/reports to ensure inventory accuracy and identify the root cause of all inventory adjustments
- Undertake analysis on inventory levels, aging, management of excess, and obsolescence
- Recommend corrective action to improve inventory performance and utilization, as well as guarantee that efficient and robust inventory controls are in place
- Scrutinize and analyze inventory issues and apply LEAN methods to prepare recommendations for policy/process improvements related to inventory tracking and accuracy
- Develop performance metrics and reporting tools, and establish ad-hoc reporting to enhance efficiency and work with the sales organization to create a plan to be shared with the purchasing department
Preferred Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree (finance, engineering, or science preferred)
- Min 5 years experience in financial analysis
- Top Excel and math skills (Pivot tables are beginner skills)
- Min 5 years experience with GP and SQL
- Strong communication/ collaboration skills. Ability to extract, analyze and articulate results clearly and succinctly
- Preferred requirements: 3 years experience with Tableau or similar.
