Current Need:
The Customer Distribution Experience (CDx) team is seeking a Director of Data Insights to lead data-driven decision-making across the pillars of CDx – Distribution Operations, Strategic Initiatives, Inventory Management, Quality, Customer Demand, Customer Experience Operations (CxO), Transportation, and Strategic Distribution. This position will report directly to the Vice President, Strategic Initiatives & Insights.
The Director of Data Insights will utilize strong analytical skills and a comprehensive understanding of the pharmaceutical supply chain, including regulatory, operations, procurement, forecasting, and transportation. This role will also cultivate and champion a culture centered around data-driven decision-making and foster a dynamic environment of continuous learning and growth.
This role will leverage knowledge of supply chain economics to support strategic decision-making based on data across relationships with manufacturers and customers. Collaborating closely with CDx leadership, the Director will identify and address complex business inquiries. Responsible for the development, analysis, and modeling of operational, economic, management, accounting, and other organizational data. Provides recommendation solutions to new and complex problems, develops innovative strategies, quantifies the competitive performance of the organization’s operations and evaluates the potential impact of changes.
The position will focus on automating processes and enhancing efficiency within the team, including defining business requirements, testing and implementing solutions, and delivering immediate business needs such as automation and dashboards. A deep understanding of the pharmaceutical industry, proficiency in handling large datasets, designing intuitive solutions, applying critical thinking, and extracting insights for CDx and broader Pharmaceutical Solutions and Services (PSaS) leadership are crucial aspects of this role.
Key Responsibilities:

Serve as a leader, connector, and translator between the CDx and McKesson Technology (MT) teams, while also acting as an educator for the MT team regarding the data structure and significance of CDx.

Inspire a team of analysts and serve as a liaison between MT and CDx stakeholders. Drive the identification of opportunities for value creation, end-to-end visibility, and enhanced customer experiences through data and insights. Lead by example, communicate the vision, foster a culture of learning, provide autonomy, celebrate successes, create a collaborative environment, and offer growth opportunities to inspire the team.

Take ownership of data dashboard development that goes beyond raw data and instead deliver actionable insights. Collaborate with stakeholders to understand the purpose and objectives of the dashboards and assist leadership with clear rationale and context behind the presented data.

Respond promptly to acute issues within CDx by providing ad-hoc data and analysis. Collaborate with sell-side and buy-side teams to analyze data for request for proposals (RFP). Ensure timely and accurate delivery of data-driven insights to support decision-making processes.
Minimum Requirements:

Degree or equivalent experience. Typically requires 12+ years of strategy, prescriptive analytics, and/or finance analytics experience AND 4+ years of management experience.
Education:
-
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, economics, supply chain, finance, or a related field required.

Master’s degree preferred.
Critical Skills:

Experience in the pharmaceutical, healthcare industry, or life sciences sector preferred.

Demonstrated expertise in supply chain economics and their seamless integration with manufacturer and customer negotiations.

Proficient in SQL, data modeling, data mining, and analytics to extract valuable insights.

Proficiency in utilizing data visualization tools such as Snowflake, Tableau, Power BI, and the SAP suite for effective data representation.

Proven track record of driving data-driven strategic thought leadership and consistently delivering impactful results.

$137,000 – $228,400
