Who You’ll Work With
You will be based in our Bangalore, Chennai or Gurgaon office as part of our Planetrics team.

What You’ll Do
You will help us to enhance and expand our modelling of climate scenarios and transition risks.
In this role, you will integrate climate scenarios into our existing climate risk analytics, develop new sector climate risk models and support our clients and client delivery team in the process of selecting and developing scenarios. Your work will include maintaining and developing Planetrics’ scenario data cleaning and expansion capabilities, maintaining our transition risk related value stream models (e.g., oil & gas) and developing new Planetrics’ models/model channels (e.g., transition risk for gold).
You will communicate scenario narratives and characteristics, modelling methodology and outputs to our financial sector clients. Lastly, you will be involved in data cleaning and extraction of climate scenarios data, Planetrics’ third party data sources, and client data related to projects.
There is flexibility to hire as an analyst or senior analyst based on candidate experience.
Qualifications
- Master’s degree in mathematics, engineering or economics
- Familiarity with climate scenarios (e.g., IEA, NGFS, Shell) and transition risks associated with climate change
- Excellent problem solving skills including ability to rapidly get up to speed with problems and propose implementable solutions
- Excellent data manipulation, analysis and visualisation skills
- Good knowledge of statistics
- Significant programming experience in R or Python
- Experience communicating findings to non-technical audiences
- Experience using GitHub
- Relevant sector-specific expertise around transition risk and scenario analysis (e.g., utilities, oil & gas, mining, agriculture or land use) is highly desirable
- Knowledge of time series econometrics is desirable
- Knowledge or experience of machine learning is desirable
- Experience working with Integrated Assessment Models (IAMs) or their outputs, and in scenario downscaling or expansion in the context of either climate change or another topic is a plus
