Who You’ll Work With

Based out of our Waltham, MA or San Jose, CR office, you will work in McKinsey’s Survey Development group which provides online survey solutions to our global network of management consultants. Our goal is to assist McKinsey’s consultants to conduct research during client engagements by providing expertise and thought partnership to enable the quick setup of secure and effective survey solutions.
You’ll work in partnership with our global, multinational team, which works more like a small startup company. Our development teams are small, flexible and employ agile methodologies to quickly provide our consultants with the solutions they need.

What You’ll Do

You’ll work closely with the McKinsey client service teams to provide end-to-end data solutions by collaborating with internal consultants, fellow solution designers to develop compelling, issue driven proposals.
You will convert business metrics to technology solutions using data-driven visual stories and data visualization tools such as, but not limited to, Tableau, PowerBI etc.
You will work to draw out interesting observations and actionable insights for clients and codify your methodology and help the team productize analyses that deliver the most value, and help train team members on the methodology and product outcomes.
You’ll introduce best practices for question designs to our clients and internal teammates by having a clear understanding of the final outcome of data collection. You will also debrief the consultant on the end-to-end research outcome.
You will manage the data cleaning pipeline, apply analytic methodologies and data visualization techniques, set up BI dashboards and create new analysis, generate insights and communicate them back to the team. Your end-products will include business models, scenario planners, reporting dashboards or data visualizations. You will understand client and project requirements and discuss how to best implement new or customized analytics. Utilizing BI (e.g. PowerBI or Tableau), you will support the creation of analysis, KPIs and dashboards or use statistical packages like R or Python to write customized reports.
You will identify the best opportunities to use data analysis, graphic design and/or programming expertise to visually depict data accurately and in ways that are accessible, engaging, innovative, and relevant to target audiences.
You will conceptualize and deliver data visualization solutions solving complex business problems.
You will articulate findings clearly and concisely, and create data-driven content with unique narratives for target use cases, including through presentations, design solution, visualization etc.

Qualifications

  • 6+ years of consumer marketing research experience that includes experience of working with enterprise level heterogeneous data environment and data visualization tools such as Tableau, PowerBI and ETL tools such as Alteryx, Informatica
  • Excellent data understanding and an analytical inclination
  • Good sense of graphic design and visual data storytelling
  • Proficiency with data manipulation/ visualization tools like Tableau, Power BI etc. and ETL tools
  • Great team collaboration skills including in a virtual team setup
  • Possess excellent written/verbal communication, presentation skills
  • Exceptional service attitude and the willingness to go the extra mile to provide outstanding deliverables
  • Willingness to work flexible hours if needed, public holidays, occasional after-hours, and “on-call” duties
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience required
