Position: Data Analyst, NPCS
Location: Boston, MA, 2 days on site.
Duration: 6 Month Contract, possibility to go full time after.
Job Description: The analyst is responsible for supporting the Nursing and Patient Care Services (NPCS) nursing quality program in the department of Center for Clinical and Professional Development (CCPD). Collects and interprets data. Identifies trends in data sets and defines data collection and analysis processes. The Data Analyst works closely with team members to ensure the integrity and quality of data is maintained. The analyst monitors timely submission and completeness of data entry, performs edit checks on the data, and perform other quality control and data cleanup tasks.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, finance, statistics, economics or a closely related field
- 1 year of experience designing data collection systems, presenting and interpreting data
- knowledge of business intelligence tools (relational databases, SQL, Excel, Tableau, Quick Base)
- Strong communication, management, critical thinking, and analytical skills that thrive in a fast paced-environment.
Responsibilities:
- Provides data analysis and reporting for the nursing department external benchmarking efforts, quality of care and clinical outcome performance tracking
- Maintains clinical databases that support monitoring of nursing practice
- Maintains and supports nursing demographic databases used for licensure renewal, certification status, NPCS Orientation, and annual submission of demographics to credentialing organizations (ANCC).
- Develops ad hoc reports that support NPCS annual report and recognition events
- Organizes complex quantitative clinical and administrative data from multiple sources
- Collects, organizes, and summarizes materials for presentations by the members of the Nurse Executive Committee
- Provides comprehensive quality assurance of department databases, including data validation
- Prepares documentation and updates standard operating procedures related to data collection, monitoring and validation processes
- Work collaboratively with members of CCPD, Clinical Operations Business Analytics (COBA), Quality and Patient Safety and NPCS.
