Deep Learning Engineer for Autonomous Driving
Mercedes-Benz Research and Development, India is seeking Engineers with a strong technical background in the areas of Automated Driving (AD) & Vision-based Deep Learning Algorithm Development.
Mercedes Benz Driver Assistance / Automated driving project is a driver assistance system used for collision warning & mitigation, lane recognition, traffic sign recognition, object recognition for avoiding or mitigating crash, automated/driver assisted parking functions, recording system events etc.

Key Job Responsibilities
- Develop object detection; pose estimation, orientation, segmentation and classification algorithms using convolutional neural networks for automotive applications.
- Conduct experiments for optimizing the runtime & performance of DL algorithms.
- Define requirements for data collection and labeling related activities for algorithm development.
- Collaborate with a global team and contribute/implement ideas for the performance improvement of existing algorithms.
Basic Qualification
- Master’s degree in Electronics and Communication/Electrical and Electronics/Computer Science
- 7-10 years of experience with Computer vision, DL/ML
Key Skills
- Experience in developing Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) based algorithms for object detection / pose estimation / head or body orientation / semantic segmentation and classification
- Experience in working with state of the art CNN architectures like Googlenet, Resnet, Mask RCNN etc.
- Experience in training and hyper-parameter tuning
- Good programming skill (Python and/or C++)
- Experience with GPU-accelerated libraries (e.g. TensorFlow, PyTorch)
- Experience in using configuration management tools like Git and Atlassian tool chains like JIRA, Confluence etc.
Good to have
- Experience in ADAS domain
- Experience in working on deep learning projects focused on gesture recognition, temporal predictions
- Experience in conversion of the deep learning algorithms to hardware (GPU/FPGA) compatible runtime models
- Experience with CUDA is a plus
