Data Security – IT Risk & Security Analyst

Database Security Analyst to execute the enterprise strategy to identify, develop, and implement database security solutions to enhance MetLife’s policy and controls environment. The candidate will have the ability to identify, remediate, document, and implement solutions for security tools. Working to remediate end user challenges and implementing user requests related to Metlife security tools. Must have the ability to take on new challenges while providing a strong communication between internal and external teams and users while maintaining a safe security posture which aligns with best practices for the industry and Metlife as a whole.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with the support, health and risk/threat data analysis of data security solutions to enhance MetLife’s security posture.
- Work with internal infrastructure security teams to align and execute infrastructure changes to support the tools and processes
- Provide operational support, deployment coordination, change management, and documentation of new and existing data security technologies.
- Create process documents for operations, maintenance and integrating output from these tools into daily security operations
Essential Business Experience and Technical Skills:
Required:
- 0-2 years of experience in the information technology domain
- Passionate about identifying threats, risks and analyzing the data sets
- Work on database platforms, passionate about ensuring databases are configured properly and securely
- Experience in both structured and unstructured database technologies
- Comfortable working across teams and disciplines. Ability to investigate and analyze complex scenarios and solve problems in innovative ways. Energetic, positive, practical, and problem solver.
Preferred:
- Bachelor’s degree preferred, major in Computer Science, Information Systems or 2+ years of related equivalent work experience in lieu of degree is acceptable
- Technologist that can pick things up very quickly, be independent and become experts
- Knowledgeable with any of the cloud environments (Azure, AWS, GCP, and/or others)
- Ability to create Python scripts for basic automation tasks, Knowledge of JSON formatted documents
- Ability to perform effectively in both independent and team settings, maintaining focus on multiple tasks and projects. Excellent verbal/written communication, and negotiation skills.
- Industry recognized information security certification are preferred (CISSP, CCSP, etc.)
- Experience supporting a global environment extending across multiple countries and time zones.
- Self-Motivated individual who has a passion for troubleshooting investigations to identify ongoing trends and work towards enabling proactive support for ongoing and future challenges.
