This role is for an Sr. Data Scientist – Data & Analytics.
You would be responsible for developing complex solutions using of data science techniques, having good knowledge, use cases and potential impact, as well as the tools and technologies. Have extensive experience in scoping, designing and delivering data science outputs and products. Collaborate with others to develop data science solutions and outputs supporting the organisation. Prepare and manipulate data, and perform complex analytics. Present and communicate effectively.
Accountabilities/Responsibilities
- Apply designated quantitative techniques such as time series analysis, optimisation and simulation to create and embed appropriate models for analysis and prediction.
- Matching data sources with relevant applied mathematics and statistical techniques to meet analysis goals.
- Critique statistical analyses. Use a variety of data analytics techniques (such as data mining and prescriptive and predictive analytics) for complex data analysis through the whole data life cycle.
- Discover new relations and offer insight into research problems, helping to improve organisational processes and support decision making.
- Model outputs to produce evidence and help design services and policies.
- Understand a broad range of statistical tools, particularly those deployed within the organisation, and can use these appropriately and help others to use them.
- Identify the data engineering requirements for any data science product, while working along with data engineers to design and deliver those products into the organisation effectively.
- Understand the need and reasons for cleansing and preparing data before including it in data science products and can put reusable processes and checks in place.
- Understand a broad range of architectures (mostly Azure cloud based) and data manipulation and transformation tools deployed within the organisation, and can use these tools appropriately.
- Develop data science solutions that maximise insight. Identify opportunities for how data science can improve data practices.
- Demonstrate in-depth & practical knowledge of data science tools and techniques, which you can use to solve problems creatively and to create opportunities for the organisation.
- Identify opportunities to develop data science products to support team objectives, while collaborating across the teams to fulfil goals.
- Communicate relevant and compelling stories effectively and present analysis and data visualisations clearly to get across complex messages.
- Demonstrate a good understanding of a range of data science techniques, such as machine learning and natural language processing, and you can use them to build data science solutions, including reports, models and dashboards.
- Write efficient, optimised complex programmes and scripts. Support junior analysts and set coding standards for your colleagues.
- Perform user testing on products prior to launch.
- Understand the differences between delivery methods, such as Agile and Waterfall, and can choose the most appropriate method to deliver each product.
- Define the minimum viable product (MVP) and support decisions about priorities.
- Work with specialists in multidisciplinary teams to smoothly deliver data science products into the organisation.

Knowledge, Skills, Experience & Educational Qualification
Knowledge & Skills:
- Advanced applied statistics skills, including distributions, statistical testing, regression, etc.
- Experience processing, filtering, and presenting large quantities (million-billion rows) of data.
- Excellent understanding of fundamental machine learning techniques and algorithms, such as Deep Learning, k-NN, Regression, Support-vector machine (SVM), Random Forests, etc. and Natural Language Processing (NLP).
- Be able to explain your feature selection or model ensemble in non-technical terms.
- Experience with common data science toolkits, with excellence in the SciPy.org stack (NumPy, SciPy, Matplotlib, Pandas, IPython, etc.) and Scikit-Learn highly desirable.
- Great working knowledge of Python an absolute given.
- Experience with data visualisation tools, such as Power BI, Matplotlib, D3.js, GGplot, etc.
- Proficiency in using query languages, such as SQL, Spark DataFrame API, etc.
- Experience in Gradient Boosting Machines, Bayesian Optimisation and Time Series Cross Validation desirable.
- Azure Databricks, Anaconda data science platform.
- Academically meticulous, but commercially-minded, and enjoy seeing your work make value for the organisation.
- You are an adaptable, resourceful, well organised team player with a strong work ethic.
- You agree that verbal and written communication skills are vital.

Experience:
- At least 7 years of relevant experience.
Educational Qualification:
- Preferably should have Technical/Science Graduation degree with specialization in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Science, Engineering or related discipline.
- Data Science certification would be an add on.
