Director of Business Intelligence & Analytics, B2C Marketing

B2C A&I Function Building

Develops and advances B2C Marketing’s A&I as a core marketing capability and key contributor to the data-driven mindset
  • Creates the 3-year vision for advancing the B2C A&I function in NA including the phases of ways of working with other cross-functional teams
  • Annually assesses innovations and technologies in the data/digital fields to inform Michelin NA’s B2C Marketing A&I capabilities
  • Identifies and deploys capabilities, tools, and processes that can evolve and enhance B2C Marketing A&I performance
  • Partners with cross-functional leaders to elevate cross-team connectedness, simplify workflows, and expedite speed to market with initiatives
  • Establishes the mechanisms (forums, deliverables etc) to drive visibility and adoption of A&I products with commercial teams
  • Empowers team to contribute to A&I function development by appointing captains over key topics (e.g., specific products, capabilities, etc.)
  • Socializes and seeks opportunities to expand NA developed A&I capabilities globally to benefit the overall business
A&I Strategy & Planning

Sets strategic vision and drives implementation of A&I roadmap to deliver against annual commercial needs
  • Translates the commercial team’s analytics needs into tangible products that deliver results, drawing connections between interrelated initiatives and business operations holistically
  • Leads the annual planning process for A&I capabilities establishing key objectives, goals, and required budget
  • Produces and maintains the team’s roadmap for ongoing visibility & prioritization amongst senior leadership
  • Manages the team development of analytical products and programs that deliver commercial impact (both in efficiency & efficacy)
  • Measures impact of launched capabilities, evaluating both efficiency (speed/hours saved) and efficacy (better decision making, etc.)
  • Manages the B2C A&I budget throughout the year ensuring delivery against plan and adapting in-year investments as needed
Business Partnering & Capability Scaling

Collaborates and builds alliances across the business to deliver analytic capabilities that maximize impact
  • Partners with NA BI&A, IT, and global partners to leverage technology/data capabilities at scale, improving Michelin’s overall analytics
  • Establishes shared annual objectives & goals with cross-functional teams to deliver against roadmap(s) (e.g., BI&A, DCTI, Pune, DMINT, etc.)
  • Influences & partners with global teams to resource and co-create needed analytic technologies/capabilities (e.g., NLP, CDL, etc.)
  • Identifies central teams (and adoption process) for ongoing production maintenance of products once developed
  • Presents A&I topics in B2C Marketing Meetings, global A&I meetings, and in select leadership forums
  • Integrates and collaborates with cross-functional NA commercial partners to deliver against business needs (B2B, Category Mgt, Sales, etc.)
  • Leverages internal A&I capabilities & platforms to advance in region development; influences global capabilities to meet NA region needs
Technical Capability Development

Advances NA’s A&I technical capabilities through ongoing adoption of central platforms & external benchmarking
  • Provides guidance on methodology to creatively solve business problems, from descriptive to advanced statistical and AI/ML techniques, including interpretation of results
  • Collaborates with and influences NA BI&A and other IS/IT teams in the design of a consumable data ecosystem that can efficiently drive scalable B2C Marketing workflows while ensuring data quality, integrity, and consistency
  • Enables the evolution of citizen data analyst/citizen data scientist capabilities by partnering with NA BI&A and other global teams in the deployment of self-service platforms, e.g., Dataiku, etc.
  • Partners with NA BI&A, Competency Manager, and other global data & analytics teams in the development of training curriculum/materials for B2C Marketing, e.g., Data Visualization/ Storytelling, Analytic Modeling, etc. as well as the use of internal platforms such as Power BI, Databricks
Performance Measurement

Creates standardized approaches to A&I performance measurement and regularly socializes team performance results
  • Develops systematic performance measurement for team productivity and performance, includes evaluation of supporting DCTI/BIA teams
  • Establishes and advances measurement practices for product performance (e.g. hours saved, number of users, data intelligence etc)
  • Leverages reporting and performance metrics to assess in-year progress to adapt plans and to inform subsequent annual planning
  • Socializes team performance results in a regular cadence ensuring visibility of work among cross-functional partners and leaders
