JR1483 Senior Engineer, Data Science

The Data Science team in Micron Technology Global Supply Chain is looking for a driven and passionate Data Science Engineer. Our mission is to utilize data engineering and data science techniques to drive business insights to achieve best in class Supply Chain reliability and responsiveness. Qualified applicants will have experience in a variety of data and cloud technologies and have extensive practice modeling data, querying, and deploying scalable data pipelines to execute machine learning models.

Align to, Understand, and Prioritize Analytic Goals to Address Business Opportunities and Value

• Maintain a clear understanding of company and department strategy
• Understand business objectives in order to develop or establish success criteria metrics
• Translate business problems into one or more data science projects/solutions

Lead Efforts to Identify Signals in Data that Address Use Cases

• Understand supply chain business processes (data sources and meaning)
• Manage and optimize data discovery and cleansing
• Understand and collect relevant data
• Identify new data sources in the network and industry that will create new insights to business needs
• Explore relevant data through visualization and statistical methods

Collect, Organize, and Prepare Data for Analysis

• Work with various volumes of data from multiple disparate sources and perform data analysis and mining to generate solutions to business problems
• Ensure processes taken to maintain data integrity
• Understand available data and what data is relevant
• Collaborate with data architects and data engineers to develop and automate ETL jobs for various volumes of data

Uncover Patterns in Data, Develop Models, and Evaluate Validity of Solutions

• Develop expertise in data mining and analytic methods
• Determine statistical validity and significance (pick out signals from noise)
• Identify and apply appropriate analytical models
• Evaluate results using statistical methods and improve the model where appropriate

Deploy Data Science Models into Business Processes

• Present findings and deliver recommendations to business stakeholders and senior leadership using effective presentation and data visualization techniques
• Industrialize data science solutions into production applications
• Ensure that the models are easy to support and maintain
• Regularly review deployed models and monitor for continual improvement
• Validate that the business value has been met

Required Technical Skills

• 
  Have 7+ Years of Experience in Data Engineering role

• 
  Build ETL pipelines to analyze, combine and organize raw data from different sources.

• 
  Experience in building ETL pipelines using tools like SSIS. Combine and organize raw data from different sources. Experience in tools like Ni-Fi, Talend ETL , Informatica will also be considered.

• 
  Must have strong experience in SQL. Must have more than 5 years of experience. (Must have)

a) Good working experience in Python and C#.

b) Basic understanding of scikit learn

• 
  Hands-on experience in Java development .

• 
  Should have used jupyter notebook before

• 
  Ability to implement and scalable, high performing, secure, highly available solutions.

• 
  Conceptual knowledge of database normalization as well as implementation

• 
  Should be able to implement ETL frameworks for Audit and Login.

• 
  Candidates with following knowledge will be preferred (Candidate will be trained on this)

a) Java/ Spring framework

b) Airflow

c) GCP: Tables/ Auto ML, AI-Platform notebooks and training pipelines

d) Beam/ GCP dataflow

e) Spark/ GCP Data proc – java

• 
  Provide hands on demonstration of the solution and provide technical support to business team members during testing and deployment phase.

• 
  Should be able to guide the junior developers, train and scale them.

• 
  Work within cross-functional teams to drive successful deployments.
