As a Technical Data Specialist, we are looking to you to assist the Strategic Sourcing team with approving electrical and mechanical components from a variety of commodities for use in Micron’s system level products. In this fast paced and dynamic organization, it will be necessary for you to perform your work in a consultative manner as the subject matter expert.
You are capable of cross functional coordination with groups such as Strategic Sourcing Managers, Design Teams, Category Managers, Compliance and Material Engineering groups, to resolve issues pertaining to component selection and manufacturing requirements.
Role Responsibilities & Tasks
The candidate will be responsible for providing requirements based technical data in support of the Strategic Sourcing and DFM teams. This role requires a technical background. Your responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:
- Review JIRA for data requirements on new part and additional source requests
- Analysis of supplier datasheets
- Direct communication with suppliers to collect data not available in datasheets
- Managing supplier feedback and component details via data entry into Micron databases
- Confirming supplier data meets all Micron internal requirements
- Liaise with and provide continuous feedback to various Engineering and Non-Engineering stakeholders on component selection and supply base updates
- Participation in supplier strategy decisions
- Review BOM health for Micron SSD, Module, Managed NAND and Mobile designs
Qualifications
- Electrical Engineering degree preferred; no experience required
- Ability to read and interpret datasheets for Actives, Passives and Mechanicals preferred
- Understanding of electronic components both Passive and Active devices preferred
- Experience with BOM management systems like Teamcenter preferred
- Experience with Bug Tracking system like JIRA preferred
- Experience with Microsoft Office tools and specifically Excel required
- Strong attention to detail and delivering a high-quality work product required
