    We are looking for a highly motivated and passionate Applied Data Scientist with focus on AI and machine learning technology, especially involving speech and language. Are you an expert in deep learning or willing to learn those advanced techniques used in Cloud+AI? This is a customer-facing position and hands-on technical role spanning across design, build, and operations with a focus on solving the problem and remove customer technical obstacles or adoption challenges.
    As part of this role, you will be responsible for technical customer engagements, working on the most challenging and exciting projects. You will work with select customers to solve their business problems using AI/ML that would involve re-using existing models, refining/customizing, or building new models.

    For this role, you will be focused on Azure, leveraging API and SDK’s to building on it, making contributions, and making our product the best the world has to offer. As an engineer, you have the opportunity to work on the latest technology in Azure:
    • Work with Azure AI services like building and training models, custom models and optimizing custom models
    • LUIS custom skills development, custom speech models (via portal)
    • Incoming data validation, quality checks, and processing with tooling.
    • End to end scenario implementation involving multiple cognitive services and integration with other Azure services
    • Collaborate with key stakeholders and contribute to the full development life cycle, including requirements analysis, architecture design, testing, documentation, and implementation
    • Play an important role in creating the high-level design document, delivering high quality code, and leading validation for all types of testing and support activities
    • As a data enthusiast explore and source a wide variety of data
    • Formulating a real-world enterprise scenario into a machine learning problem and think of optimal ways of solving.
    • Data wrangling with large data sets on the cloud to understand the properties of the data.
    • Transforming data into innovative features/signals that can improve a machine-learning tasks.
    • Participate in end-to-end machine learning model lifecycle, from prototyping, implementing & evaluating ML and DL models, followed by deployment and monitoring using Azure.
    • Working in a team of engineers, data scientists, UX experts to deliver an intuitive, robust solution to the customer.


    Qualifications


    Basic Qualifications:
    • BS/MS degree in computer science or related field
    • 5+ years of experience in solving ML and Data Science problems
    • Experience in working with cloud-based conversational AI service
    • Practical experience with Spark, Python, Databricks or Synapse
    • Knowledge and demonstrable skills in Deep learning architectures and implementation using Pytorch, TensorFlow or other frameworks.

    Preferred Qualifications:
    • Ability to leverage APIs, and other relevant data science & data analytical tools such as Azure Machine learning, Synapse with strong data analytics & debugging skills.
    • Understanding of Azure Cognitive Services like Speech Services, LUIS, Computer Vision
    • Comfortable in automated deployments using CI/CD pipelines in Azure Devops and MLOps
    • Track record of having the internal drive and motivation to begin and continue tasks
    • Deep desire to work collaboratively, solve problems with groups, find win/win solutions and celebrate successes
    • Strong communication skills (verbal and written) with ability to communicate across teams, internal and external at all levels
    • Solve problems by always leading with deep passion and empathy for customers
