The Position
Our Data Engineer will be starting at the ground level helping Midtown build our long-term data strategy for the future. They will be tasked with developing and implementing an optimized data pipeline architecture and transforming data from a variety of sources into actionable insights. They will collaborate with other members of the engineering team on data initiatives and ensure data delivery is consistent throughout projects.
The Primary Responsibilities Are
- Create and maintain enterprise-level data pipeline architecture.
- Assemble large, complex datasets that meet business requirements.
- Identify, design, and implement internal process improvements: automating manual processes, optimizing data delivery, re-designing infrastructure for greater scalability, etc.
- Work with stakeholders to assist with data-related technical issues and support their data infrastructure needs.
Data Engineering Requirements
- BS in Engineering, Information Technology, or equivalent work experience.
- 1 – 3 years of data engineering experience.
- Experience implementing multiple data warehousing methodologies and data schemas.
- Experience with data analytics platforms such as Databricks or similar.
- Advanced working knowledge of SQL and experience working with relational databases, query authoring (SQL) as well as working familiarity with a variety of databases.
- Experience with object-oriented/object function scripting languages: Python, Scala, etc.
- Knowledge of BI tools and experience in report writing using Qlik or similar a plus.
- Exposure to development around Azure cloud resources such as Azure Data Factory a plus.
- Experience with various collaboration tools: Azure DevOps, JIRA, and/or MS Teams.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
- Eager to work with multiple teams and projects at the same time.
