Job Brief
As a part of the platform team, you will develop and co-own the data platform roadmap for mindtickleโs platform products. The data platform will ensure that we have a robust, scalable data pipeline, storage, and cloud data warehouse which will be used to provide predictive insights about sales readiness to customers. In this process, the product manager is expected to perform market research, and stakeholder interviews, discuss pain points with customers, create product requirement designs and enable developers to deliver a world-class platform for mindtickle.
Key Responsibilities:
- Own the software product that supports our team’s data platform and analytics needs.
- Prefer experience in one or more of the following areas: Big Data (familiarity with Hadoop, MAPR, BigQuery, Presto, etc.), Cloud Ecosystems (Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud Platform), Metadata Management, Data Quality and Governance, Machine Learning, Cloud Security and Privacy, etc.
- Understand Market direction on data platform, ecosystem & tools, competitive landscape & customer needs to build the Product Strategy & Product Roadmap.
- Deep dive into the Product usage data and metrics to identify problem areas to prioritize.
- Create product requirements and translate them into user stories.
- Collaborate with business owners of streams, design, engineering, and QA closely to ensure timely delivery and high-quality execution.
- Foster collaboration with designers, product managers, marketers, and sales to translate insights into actionable recommendations that inform execution.
- Help the Sales Enablement team, Customer Success Team, and Professional Services Team be up-to-date on product and product-related objections.
- Manage or Help in product launch along with Product Marketing.
Requirement:
- 5+ years of work experience, with at least 2+ years experience working as a product manager/as a tech entrepreneur.
- Data-driven. Must have a track record of demonstrable experiences in analyzing and understanding data/usage trends and productizing these as insights. Hands-on knowledge of Mixpanel, Google Analytics, and knowledge of how the data ecosystem is evolving around Spark, Data Warehouse, and Data Lakehouse.
- Good understanding of modern data platforms and frameworks, big data technologies(Spark, Kafka, Airflow, DBT, Cloud Data Warehouses) as well as issues related to scalability and performance.
- Knowledge of data standards and governance, knowledge graph concepts, data modeling, database structures, big data technologies (Snowflake, RedShift, DataBricks), data streaming, ETL/ELT, and AI & machine learning concepts.
- Good understanding of data analysis and software engineering to be able to communicate effectively with the engineering team.
- A strong team player with the ability to build cross-team partnerships and strategic alignment; and to influence without direct authority.
- Engage with existing and prospective customers, understand the use of data in their business, and bring improvements in the product to address those needs.
- Demonstrated experience in building products that deliver value using data or analytics.
- Deep understanding of data challenges at scale challenges and the ecosystem.
- Previous experience managing platform products in a SaaS organization is preferred.
