Modern Chemical is seeking an Account Executive to join our outstanding team. We are seeking a passionate and motivated individual to assist the Modern Chemical team with enterprise level chemical sales and bulk chemical trading for our customers.
Modern Chemical is a small, very close-knit team. We watch football together, go on company hunting trips, enjoy going to Astros games, and together we fix complex problems for our chemical customers. Position: Finance Analyst
Status: Exempt Full-Time Position
Position Reports to: CFO
Date: January 15, 2023
Role Summary
Reporting to the CFO, the Finance Analyst researches appropriate supplier sources, assist in accounting and bookkeeping activities, customer invoicing, AR/AP activity, cost cutting strategy, pro-forma business case analysis, and developing customer and supplier relationships that align with Modern Chemical mission and strategy.
Role Description
- General administrative support for company on-going projects and new projects
- Assist with accurate reporting of financial accounting for multiple lines of business including month-end close, accounts payable.
- Performs various ad-hoc analyses, including but not limited to cost/benefit analysis, long term forecasting, cost trending and root cause analysis, capital requests, variance analysis, manpower analysis, cost reduction, profitability analysis, analysis of financial statements, and other strategic planning initiatives
- Develop future models/reports to assist operations team upon request
- Provide ad hoc analysis and administrative duties based on management and corporate requests
- Contributing to innovation and improvement of internal processes and procedures
- Oversees any deliveries or returns requests
- Report to the office 5 days/week. Modern Chemical is open to partial remote work after the first 90 days of employment.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- A 4-year Bachelor’s Degree in finance or business a requirement for this role
- Must be proficient in Quickbooks
- Team-player with the ability to work collaboratively
- Willingness to take ownership and drive results in a start-up environment
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with a proven ability to create and maintain positive working relationships with suppliers, shippers, and customers.
- Highly detail-oriented
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent Microsoft Office Suite skills

- Bachelor’s Degree Required
