The Strategy & Business Analysis Manager (S&BA) serves as an integral business partner for the Distributor Partnerships leader and team. This role is responsible for analyzing syndicated and proprietary data, translating it to a subchannel across region/markets, communicating insights, and providing recommendations to maximize growth and value opportunities for the subchannel and/or specific market(s) in the subchannel. The S&BA ensures that decisions are data-driven to leverage subchannel and market opportunities while remaining aligned with Maison/brand plans, broader Insights and Category Management strategy, and the MHUSA 2030 Strategy Blueprint.
Data Management
- Partner with Consumer Insights, Analytics & Business Growth team, specifically Business Intelligence team, to interpret and translate national-level syndicated and proprietary data to relevant subchannels.
- Analyze and translate data and insights provided by the Business Intelligence and Analytics teams into subchannel/region/market-specific insights to identify growth and value opportunities.
Business Analysis
- Collaborate with the Distributor Partnerships Lead and Brand leaders to interpret and prioritize business insights, in alignment with subchannel volume and profit targets.
- Connect subchannel team and the Trade Marketing / Program Development team to ensure that data-driven programming is brought to action smoothly and in alignment with business objectives.
- Partner with the Planning & Performance analyst, subchannel sales team, and the Trade Marketing / Program Development team to establish KPIs and conduct ROI analysis related to programs and strategic projects, ensuring that results and information are disseminated across key stakeholders.
- Develop materials for the Distributor Partnerships lead in support of key stakeholder meetings with internal and external partners.
Category Management
- Execute category management strategy for the subchannels as outlined by the central Category Management team, by serving as a conduit to bring central insights to market.
- Tailor general category management framework to the given subchannel or specific accounts and translate insights into specific selling stories and tactics for the customer.
Profile
Business Planning and Compliance
- Lead all business analysis activities for the assigned subchannel, including quarterly business reviews, and other standard/regular analyses and reporting, as established by the Commercial Strategy and Management team.
- Participate in the Distributor Partnerships’ annual planning process, providing relevant data, analysis, business insights, and recommendations to maximize volume and profit opportunities.
- Collaborate with Distributor Partnerships Lead and Commercial Strategy and Management to align on business planning, analysis, and reporting standards to ensure consistency and compliance in data tracking and usage across all brands and regions.
- Utilizing data and intelligence resources, partner with subchannel leadership to adjust and evolve brand and/or market plans as necessary, in response to trend analyses and emerging opportunities.
- Manage collaborative internal relationships with Consumer Connections & Investments, Consumer Insights, Analytics & Business Growth, Brand teams, and Subchannel leadership and team
- Own, collect, and analyze data to derive business insights for given subchannel and relevant accounts
- Translate central insights and category management strategy into subchannel/account specific tactics and selling stories
Education
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
Professional Experience
- 3-5 years of data and analysis experience, preferably in a wines and spirits or packaged goods environment
- Experience within the U.S. three-tier distribution system
- Experience in a luxury business environment preferred
Practical/Technical Knowledge
- Demonstrated commercial expertise
- Consumer goods financial acumen
- Extensive understanding of syndicated data resources, reporting, and analysis
