DESCRIPTION

In this role on the Business Information and Analytics (BIA) team, you will report directly to the Global Head of BIA in NY and manage the entirety of the BIA Analytics service offering, including developing the strategic roadmap for the service and rollout to global business partners.

You will manage the day-to-day activities of the Data & Analytics global service while delivering the strategic roadmap to define, enhance and measure the effectiveness and overall business value of the service line. You will support internal global clients in Investment Banking, Sales & Trading, Research, Investment Management, etc. You will leverage technology and productivity tools to improve business processes with direct oversight of vendor teams in multiple locations. The role is multi-faceted, fast-paced and demanding and directly contributes to the execution of a multi-year divisional strategy.

You Will:

  • Develop and rollout strategic roadmap for Analytics capabilities to recover business capacity to BIA business partners, including front office stakeholders
  • Collaborate with BIA Leadership and Research teams to determine Analytics initiatives and business development opportunities
  • Partner with strategic vendors to deliver global Analytics services, integrating productivity tools for efficiency
  • Ideate and oversee the automation of predicable and repeatable tasks such as large-scale data collection from web and company documents to help business partner efficiency
  • Measure the effectiveness of the service, developing key metrics and performance indicators, and report regularly to BIA Leadership and business partners on efficiencies gained and areas for continued growth
  • Provide operational oversight of team utilization, ensuring efficient distribution of work, preventing backlogs and forecasting capacity based on ongoing projects and anticipated ad hoc initiatives
  • Create, standardize and maintain best in class products and information artefacts into a central Library (Knowledge Management)
  • Expand and enhance current books of work, including Pitchbook/Presentations Integration, Financial Modeling/Valuation, Dashboards, etc.
  • Work with Research and Creative teams to deliver business-ready products

QUALIFICATIONS

To be successful in this role, you will have these technical skills, degree(s) or knowledge:

  • Understand the Business Information lifecycle with a minimum of 10 years relevant experience
  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Finance, Math, Computer Science, but not limited to
  • Experience in Financial Services industry; front office leadership role preferred
  • Working knowledge of information science and delivery of research via database resources
  • Comfortable in a demanding and fast-paced environment; ability to coordinate priorities as per business needs
  • Resourceful, independent self-starter
  • Proficient in MS Office with an advanced emphasis on Excel for automation
  • Effective organizational and project management skills, including the ability to prioritize workload to meet deliverable deadlines
  • Client-focused with ability to anticipate needs, address clients’ expectations and cooperate to achieve objectives
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, able to synthesize data and clearly articulate complex ideas

To give you an extra boost, you will:

  • Have working knowledge and proficiency in programming concepts, including Python and UiPath, and Data Visualization Tools, including Tableau
  • Have an understanding of Agile methodology and Data Warehouses (feeds and concepts)
  • Have experience managing external information and market research suppliers, market data or business process outsourcing (BPO) partners

Expected base pay rates for the role will be between 110,000 and 190,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, other short and long-term incentive packages, and other Morgan Stanley sponsored benefit programs.
