As a Team Lead, you will oversee an engineering team dedicated to the implementation and maintenance of Data Lake and associated software applications, and offerings. This is a highly visible role with significant interaction with both upstream and downstream stakeholders across Technology, Data, Products and Research.
Incumbent will take ownership of implementation of key initiatives and projects to make the data platform a fully-managed, scalable, and self-service platform. Often, the EDP has significant technology demands and data requirements. Therefore, the Lead will be expected to participate in technical solution design to assess various alternatives and approaches, to evaluate impact, feasibility, and cost trade-offs.
You will be expected to keep pace with trends in software engineering, computer science, cloud and data science, and financial research industries. You will be expected to autonomously contribute to a comprehensive technology strategy that results in greater products, more robust processes, better communication, and faster delivery times.

This position reports to the Associate Director of EDP, Technology.
Responsibilities :
- Technical SME – Act as a Technical SME for Data Lake suggesting, architecting, building and deploying AWS based services and solutions leveraging best practices of Software Engineering,
- People Management – you will manage one squad of software engineers. Mentoring the people below you by developing their skills and positioning them for success is critical.
- Build Applications and Services – Deployment / implementation and maintenance of EDP. Add new features and solutions as per the product roadmap for EDP.
- Client Interaction – you will be responsible for onboarding data producers and consumers to EDP. Willingness to participate in periodic calls during US or European hours is a necessity. Moreover, you will be expected to assist in the resolution of issues and questions coming from various data producers and consumers.
Requirements :
- Minimum of 5-8 years of hands on experience in software engineering specifically building and deploying Data warehouse, Data Lake, AWS Applications.
- Excellent people management skills.
- Experience working on Data Lake projects for AMCs, Banks, Hedge Funds etc.
- Experience architecting and deploying complex data pipelines in Cloud Environment
- An advanced degree in engineering, computer science or related field.
- Good knowledge of Python, Object Oriented Programming & Cloud (AWS certification preferred). Familiarity with Jupyter lab and notebooks is good to have.
- Experience deploying Analytics/Data Quality solutions using services in the Amazon AWS ecosystem (Lambda, EC2, S3, Glue, Athena, EMR, LakeFormation, Redshift, Presto).
- Preferably having experience in Financial Domain managing both projects and operations.
- Expertise with DevOps tools (e.g. Splunk, Git, uDeploy, Jenkins, Cloudformation).
- Experience with Agile software engineering practices.
- Experience with UNIX/Linux including basic commands and shell scripting.
- Familiarity with mutual fund, fixed income, and equity data is a plus.
- Intellectual curiosity for the world of Finance & mutual funds research.
- Fluent in both oral and written English.
