The Role: In this role, we are looking for individual from the financial industry with a research and data interpretation mindset. As a Research Analyst you will collect and manage data and undertake basic analysis for the Credit Research commentaries of European Structured Finance. This role requires working closely with multiple teams based in other European DBRS Morningstar offices to ensure a timely and high-quality delivery. The candidate should be willing to work in an environment with a strong focus on teamwork, have a strong work ethic, an analytical mindset with attention to detail.
The analyst will be the responsible for providing data analysis, writing, and presenting research covering structured finance products. Highly motivated candidates willing to learn, have a winning attitude, and who have the following skills will be strongly preferred: strong writing, analysis and presentation skills, and knowledge of the securitisation market.
Responsibilities
- Collect, organise, and analyse data from internal and external sources
- Maintain regular and open communication with the operations team and the EMEA team about assigned tasks, priorities, etc.
- Present findings and engage with DBRS Morningstar sector rating analysts.
- Lead and contribute in the writing and production of Structured Finance research, presentations and analysis of data.
- Study, analyse and comment on performance trends for securitisation transactions: delinquencies, cumulative defaults, recoveries, prepayments, credit enhancement, and changes in collateral characteristics.
- Draft topical research for both internal and external use, such as discussion papers, press releases, presentations, and research commentaries.
- The successful candidate will be required to juggle many tasks concurrently and take part in various ongoing projects.
- Take ownership of the tasks with focus on quality and accuracy of the deliverables
- Demonstrate strong learning curve
- Ensure compliance with all applicable policies and procedures.
Requirements
- Master’s degree in Finance, Economics, CFA level 2 cleared or FRM Level 1 cleared preferred.
- 2-4 years of research management and data analysis experience, credit ratings or structured finance background preferred. Knowledge of European markets is a plus
- High level of proficiency and comfort with working on Tableau, MS Office Suite, particularly MS Excel. Knowledge of analytical programming languages Python is a plus
- Strong English reading, writing and content interpretation skills. Knowledge of another European language/s is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Highly motivated, self-starter who is keen to learn, has a positive attitude and a strong work ethic
- Ability to manage multiple tasks at the same time and deliver results in a timely manner.
- Good inter-personal skills and ability to participate/ contribute as a team player.
