Job Purpose
This role helps define the vision for business-wide data activities and champions for data ownership and stewardship, drives standardization, accessibility, and governance for (US) wide electric business unit. This role will develop and drive activities within the Electric Business Domain. These activities include business data glossary, reporting & governance. In this role they will work with the wider data management team and stakeholders to ensure Electric Business Unit has the latest and most accurate data to make decision on the safe integrity of the transmission and distribution systems to achieve company objectives, strategies, and policies.
Key Accountabilities
- Manage the business data glossary
- Work with IT and business counterparts to develop key regulatory & process metric reports
- Work with IT and business counterparts to enhance & deploy data quality KPI reports & dashboards
- Work with the Data Management Director to inform data strategy & workplan
- Facilitate Electric Data Domain governance meetings & lead on cadence, agenda & widening participation
- Ensure all the data artifacts for the areas are up to date (Data Business Rules Dictionary, Asset Specs, Asset Classifications, Domains, and Measurements).
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a STEM discipline is preferred (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) with 4 years of related experience. An equivalent level of practical prior experience will be considered. Required qualifications include:
- Strategic self-starter with excellent computer & data set skills and an advocate for data analytics value across business and to diverse audiences
- Experience with complex data flows and relationship to business process
- Self-aware individual who can effectively manage stakeholders and build relationships across all levels and functions
- Effective communicator able to communicate at all levels within the organization
- Experience implementing change within an organization
The ideal qualified candidates will also have some or all the following:
- Experience conducting structured business analysis and generating well-defined requirements
- Electric utility process & systems experience – (i.e., GIS, Work Management)
- Data Management Tools (Snowflake, Informatica Data Quality & Axon)
- Programming or Logical Rule Based Progressions (i.e., IFTTT
