National Grid is hiring an Incident Analysis Analyst for our Gas Pipeline Safety Management department in upstate NY.


The Team

Our team investigates pipeline safety incidents, works in close collaboration with field service operations and creates lessons learned to help ensure that similar incidents are unlikely to occur.


What You’ll Do

  • Facilitate daily pipeline safety incident and issue reporting into National Grid’s Gas Business Continuous Improvement Program (CIP), interfacing with key parts of the business to promote reporting
  • Participate in CIP Operations team daily review of categorization, evaluation, assessment of risk, and assignment of corrective action owners
  • Track quality, cause evaluation status, program participation, and closure of corrective actions
  • Provide ad hoc reports on CIP information


About You

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • 1+ years of experience investigating incident root cause and causal factors preferred
  • Experience in gas field operations and/or engineering preferred
  • Demonstrated knowledge of data systems including Power Bi and Excel required
  • Valid driver’s license required
  • Solid understanding of how a management system approach can drive continuous improvement preferred
  • Awareness of Safety Management Systems and application to business operations (e.g., API RP 1173, OSHA Process Safety Management, EPA Risk Management Program, OHSAS 18001) preferred
  • Effective written and presentation skills required

Salary

$64,000 – $75,000 a year

Please be advised that due to the nature of this position, incumbents are subject to federal Drug & Alcohol safety regulations governing US Department of Transportation (DOT) covered positions, including the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) and Pipeline Hazardous Material Safety Administration (PHMSA). As such, the Company’s testing programs and policies regarding the use of federally prohibited drugs or alcohol, for recreational or medical purposes, will remain in effect for these safety-sensitive, DOT covered positions.
