Roles and Responsibilities
The data scientist / ML engineer would be responsible for solving complex business problems and for building analytical assets that can be deployed in business which will prove to be a game-changer not just for Print business but for the whole Print industry.
She / He will be responsible for making data connections between different data sources to be able to tell more stories with the enriched data; provide better understanding of customers, their industry, usage patterns, etc to influence strategic decision-making.
Using data driven approach and leveraging the Big Data system; Search Analytics, enhancing Geolocation capabilities, A/B testing, testing the impact of pilots, providing channel insights, and influencing product design are some of the areas where the data scientist will be expected to contribute. She / He should aspire to influence business decisions through analytics and generation of actionable insights.
Additional Skills:
- Strong Technical project/program management skills ability to readily identify and onboard partners and drive alignment
- Ability to effectively communicate data product architectures and/or algorithm design proposals and negotiate options at senior management levels, BU and executive levels.
- Solid understanding of data engineering (how to build/connect data pipelines) wonโt necessarily DO the data engineering work, for the most part, but understands deeply how data engineering is/should be done and can steer the workload of others

- Experience in Business Analytics and/or Marketing Analytics.
- Experience in designing and managing a Business Intelligence or Analytics Process.
- Experience in data analysis and transformation with expert knowledge of MS Excel, AWS tools, RDBMS and Columnar databases, Statistical analysis and data modeling.
- Skills on a visualization tool like Power BI or QlikView or Tableau is desirable
- Proficiency in Redshift, S3, Athena, Databricks
- Proficiency in building ML / DL / NLP models
- Impeccable Story-Telling skills – create visualizations to describe and communicate data insights.

- Ability to design analytics solutions to address business problems
- Proficiency in Marketing and Finance
- Ability to influence a data driven business decision
- Ability to work in a fast paced environment providing about 4 hours overlap with PST time zone
Education and Experience Required:
- Business Analyst (BA) or Bachelor of Science (BS) in Marketing or Statistics; Master of Business Administration (MBA) preferred.
- Specialist / Expert level knowledge on Databricks
- Ability to convert R codes to SQL / Databricks
- Knowledgeable in Scala and Python
- Familiarity with Cloud and AWS
- Finance background is desirable
- Advanced statistics background or equivalent for analytical positions (advanced degree in mathematics, statistics, econometrics, or related degree with deep research background).
- Computer Engineer degree will be preferred
