Summary:

The Product Business Analyst will be a member of the Product Management Team supporting Product Managers, the Engineering team, and various Business Departments. The Product BA decides how to build and support the product based on technical and business input. The core responsibilities of this role are to drive product solutions based on business needs, help move the product through development working in partnership with the Product Manager and Engineering, through release and the tracking of key product and business metrics throughout its lifecycle. The BA will work with key business stakeholders analyzing, eliciting, validating, and documenting business requirements, processes, and policies. Product BA responsibilities also include providing coordination of all activities pertaining to project planning, estimating, project status reporting, problem resolution and collaboration with key stakeholders.

Duties / Responsibilities:

  • Determine business functional and reporting requirements with key subject matter experts (SMEs) through a variety of interviewing and facilitation techniques.
  • Drive the solutioning of product needs and enhancements based on business and customer requirements, in partnership with the Product Manager, Engineering team, and UX team.
  • Produce/maintain project deliverables including user stories, detailed specifications, and project plans.
  • Provide basic technology and business best practice guidance related to initiatives.
  • Supports initiatives around business process development.
  • Plan, coordinate and participate in user acceptance testing as needed.
  • Gather data on metrics such as feature usage, trends, adoption rates, product quality, team productivity, and more,
  • Help update user documentation and other user-facing documents including product-related portions of RFP responses.
  • Triage and analyze customer issues.
  • Communicate with team members to research problems and find solutions.
  • Aid QA and Support teams on an as needed basis.
  • Read and interpret complex federal/state requirements for safety and security compliance, standards, and best practices.
  • Understand software development team velocity and indicators of green/yellow/red project status within the technical teams.
  • Prioritization of deliverables and milestone setting to achieve roadmap items promised during the sprint, quarter, or year.
  • Other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • Proficient in Microsoft products.
  • Proficient in Jira and related software development tools.
  • Developing project plans and monitoring performance.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • Experience creating detailed documentation and giving presentations.
  • Ability to effectively communicate (written and verbal) with both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Strong organization skills, as well as the ability to meet deadlines and follow instructions
  • Able to thrive in a dynamic and fast-paced environment with the ability to prioritize competing deliverables on business needs and requirements due to changing timelines.
  • Innovative problem-solver with strong quantitative and analytical skills with desire to impact the business through data.
  • Ability to build relationships and communicate in a professional manner.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Agile software development philosophies
  • Experience with common software development methodologies (i.e. Scrum, Kanban, XP, etc.)
  • Experience running software development meetings and ceremonies
  • Working within technical teams, and managing results

Normal Working Hours and Conditions: Core business hours are generally 8:00 am – 5:00 pm. However, this position will require work to be performed outside of normal business hours based on Company operations.

Physical Requirements: Primary functions require sufficient physical ability and mobility to work in an office setting including verbally communicating, seeing and hearing to exchange information and fine coordination including use of a computer keyboard. Daily physical functions include standing, sitting and walking for prolonged periods of time and occasionally stooping, bending, kneeling, crouching, reaching, and twisting. The employee may engage in lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling light to moderate amounts of weight up to 25 pounds. The position also requires the operation of office equipment requiring repetitive hand movement.
