The Data and Reporting Analyst’s (Remote) primary function is in data report development, query writing, dashboard and BI tool development, and related data analysis exploring health equity and outcome disparities. Main areas of focus include, but are not limited to population health , clinical quality, safety, and prevention, public and population health, social determinants of health, patient experience, access to care and more. This role will collaborate frequently with other departmental data and business analysts, data scientists, program leads, researchers and more in support of Nemours strategic Health, Value, & Equity work as well as research and scholarship.
This role also serves as a partner and liaison between equity team members and clinical, operational, medical management, population health functions and different technology and analytics roles at Nemours supporting effective communication, project management and requirements definitions for data and/or technical deliverables.
Note: This is a technical role to author data standards, write original queries, develop dashboards, and use statistical tools. Its primary function is data production rather than just retrieval using existing tools.
Essential Functions
- Design, write and execute basic to advanced queries, dashboards and/or reports to extract data from the data warehouse.
- Assist with the development and maintenance of data extraction, aggregation, and validation models for disparate data from multiple sources (e.g., EHR data, publicly available data) in support of quantitative analyses and reporting
- Collaborate with other technology stakeholders on data, reporting, workflow, and quality measure design and validation
- Support the design, development, validation, and rollout of public dashboards, following Nemours standards, for use by other stakeholders
- Conduct cross-validation, data cleansing and quality checks for extracted data.
- Support documentation standard data definitions within Nemours standard platforms (e.g. Collibra)
- Assist in the development and preparation of scorecards, dashboards and summary reports showing high-level results and trends appropriate for different internal and external audiences.
- Assist with the development and execution of analytical and/or investigative activities to provide stakeholders with information and tools for strategic decision-making and planning in support of equity goals.
- Collaborate with existing analysts and leaders in areas such population health, quality & safety, clinical pathways, contract management, clinical operations, and patient experience to promote standard models for analyzing the impact of REaL patient characteristics as well as other demographics and social needs on overall quality and outcomes.
- Conduct analysis of existing data sets to identify patterns and trends, recommend specific areas for further analysis, or identify additional data needs.
- Develop and apply knowledge of clinical, operational, revenue and expense workflows at Nemours, and their relationship to overall population health efforts and equity efforts.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required
- A minimum of three years relevant experience
- Experience using report writing and data visualization tools.
- Experience in statistics, data analysis, query-writing, business intelligence within a healthcare setting preferred.
