The Sr. Analyst’s role is a part of a multi-disciplinary team responsible for supporting advanced analytics initiatives for Nestle USA’s commercial-focused business (marketing, sales, pricing, etc.). The immediate focus of the analyst will be to support high profile analytics initiatives currently in flight at NUSA, helping to connect business problems / opportunities to advanced analytics solutions that drive real value for the commercial business. The analyst will be a key connector of business stakeholders (commercial leaders, end users) and advanced analytics delivery practitioners (data scientists, engineers, digital leadership, IT, etc).
Primary Responsibilities
- Support identifying and framing advanced analytics opportunities in commercial business:
- Work with business stakeholders to identify scope and determine approach (PoC to scaled solution)
- Gather detailed business requirements and work with technical resources (data engineers, data scientists, etc.) to translate into technical requirements
- Assist execution of user acceptance testing, documenting process, requirements, and enabling execution
- Build business cases and results measurement programs and prepare briefings for senior leadership
- Partner with commercial leadership to determine prioritization of advanced analytics use cases
- Own documentation development and delivery (detailed requirements, project deliverables, solution support) and ensure consistent quality across portfolio of projects
- Assist in commercial business advanced analytics strategy development and socialization
Skills & Competencies
- Innovative thinker with ability to propose strategies and solutions that challenge / expand current ways of working
- Ability to analyze business processes, identify needs for advanced analytics solutions, and convey those insights to non-technical stakeholders
- Strong understanding of process design and execution; ability to identify ways to integrate advanced analytics solutions into existing business processes
- Good facilitation and presentation skills, including training delivery.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, organizational and time-management abilities.
- High initiative, self-starter, and able to work with limited supervision with proven ability to prioritize and manage multiple assignments.
- Working knowledge of analytics governance processes, stakeholder management, project management / agile delivery
- Working business knowledge of commercial functions (marketing, sales, pricing)
- Working knowledge of data visualization techniques and use of latest visualization tools
- Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills with passion for solving complex problems and generating cross-functional solutions in a fast-paced environment
Experience
- Undergraduate Degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Business, or a similar field
- Foundational knowledge of analytics techniques (descriptive/diagnostic to predictive/prescriptive), how to develop a business case / value for analytics use case, and how and when to use advanced analytics (vs. descriptive analytics) for a business problem preferred
- Basic understanding of advanced analytics model development, training, and testing preferred; experience developing and deploying advanced analytics solutions a plus
- Working experience in commercial functions within consumer products preferred
- A minimum of 3 years of analytical prior experience in business analyst role(s) strongly preferred
- Experience working with agile teams to rapidly deploy analytics solutions strongly preferred
