Job Mission
The Junior Data Scientist will assist senior data scientist to leverage the power of big data, data science, and built-in ML/AI capability within NB existing platforms to uncover hidden relationships from vast troves of data, generate insights, inform decision-making, and improve SCP planning models. This position will play an important role to advance data science adoption and usage across Global Planning organizations to improve operational performance.
Major Accountabilities
- Initiate and participate in discussions with business stakeholders to understand and identify Use cases where data science can be applied to improve operations
- Ability to identify the data sources that can be used to conduct data analysis, and be able to prepare the data to meet data science model needs
- Assist senior data scientist to build up algorithms, ML/DL data models to improve Global Planning operation performance
- By leveraging NB Business Intelligent tools to build up complicated and in-depth reports to meet Global planning operation and performance management needs
- Measure and optimize the quality of deployed data models and data analysis reports
- Explain data science models to non-data science people in business terms and connect to business cases.
- Provide training and tutoring to help transform Global Planning into a data-driven organization
Requirements For Success
- Solid knowledge in machine learning, statistical modeling, and mathematical optimization such as predictive modeling, time series forecasting, A/B testing, etc
- Ability to be flexible and adjust to rapidly changing environments, test and learn with new data sets and parameters
- Experience with data wrangling, data mining, and visualization
- Bachelor’s Degree in any quantitative field such as Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, Economics, etc.
- Ability to work with a cross-functional team
- Experience within the consumer goods retail industry is a big plus
- Experience in SQL/Non-SQL, Python, Databricks, Snowflake is preferred
- Strong communication skills and ability to work with ambiguity.
