As a data analyst, you will collaborate with team members to conceptualize, deliver, and support our clients through today’s ever-changing landscape. The data analyst is responsible for developing meaningful financial and resource reports that drive corporate strategic decisions, monitor key performance indicators and support project management monitoring. Serving as a data analyst, your day-to-day role will include partnering with other departments/teams to provide financial and operational analysis to explain how actions impact results, to help track project progress, and to suggest process improvements.
Key Responsibilities
- Retrieve and use data from the accounting system and other data sources to provide information on key performance indicators.
- Develop, coordinate distribution, and maintain reporting templates to report financial and operational information.
- Build, develop, and maintain data models, reporting systems, data automation systems, dashboards, and performance metrics that support key business decisions.
- Research, review, and analyze the effectiveness and efficiency of existing report procedures and systems, to develop strategies for enhancing or leveraging those procedures and systems.
- Provide reporting, data analysis, and general system support.
About You:
Required Qualifications
- Expert in Microsoft Excel (refreshable web query [RWQ]), Power Pivot, formulas, etc.).
- Practical knowledge on importing data for use in report software, spreadsheets, and graphs.
- Strong programming and analysis skills; ability to conceptualize complex data flows/transformations.
- Ability to solve problems creatively and propose solutions with minimal direction.
Preferred/Desired Qualifications
- Familiarity with an enterprise resource planning (ERP) system.
- Basic understanding of financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, profit/loss statements, and cash flow statements.
- Familiarity with business intelligence (BI) tools, such as Power BI or Tableau.
Education and Experience
- A bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology/systems, finance/accounting, math/statistics, or similar discipline with at least three years of related experience—five years preferred. An equivalent combination of advanced education, training, and experience will be considered.
