Our analysts drive the organization in the use and adoption of data in today’s evolving healthcare environment. As a Senior Analyst within the Quality Analytics team, you will be part of a community of developers and analysts who work collaboratively to meet the analytics needs of the Ambulatory Care Network and the Digital Health team. Senior Analyst – Quality Analytics
Our team partners with clinical and operational stakeholders to support their efforts. The Senior Analyst will be responsible for collaborating with stakeholders to build dashboards and conduct analyses to provide information and insights that contribute to sound strategic planning, decision-making, goal setting, and effective performance measurement. The incumbent will maintain project plans and priorities, understanding the needs and technical specifications of incoming data requests, extracting data elements from various sources, designing and building useful anayses, and sharing development and process knowledge with other analysts in order to eliminate redundancy and continuously build a core of analytical strength within the organization.
Ideal candidates will be detail-oriented and passionate about using data to solve problems in healthcare, and able to think creatively and plan strategically. This position identifies and addresses expected and unforeseen data complexities to mitigate their impact on the analytic outcome and associated business decisions. The incumbent will work to improve data quality where possible within created analytical models and feed data quality issues back to identified data stewards to facilitate the creation of high-quality metrics. Innovative thinking and a willingness to learn and adopt new technologies will be crucial to success in this role. Come join NYP’s growing hospital analytics team.
Required Criteria
- Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field such as Biomedical Informatics, Epidemiology, Computer Science, Data Science, Public Health, Economics, Biostatistics, Health Policy, Statistics, or Biometrics or equivalent experience
- Proficient in SQL and database modeling
- 2 or more years of previous work-related experience
- Experience with healthcare data
- Experience with data visualization – Tableau
- Clear demonstration of technical, analytical, organizational, problem solving and communication skills
- Excellent attention to detail and a positive, customer centric attitude
- Epic Module Certification (Cogito) obtained within six months of employment
Preferred Criteria
- Master’s Degree
- Prior experience with Epic Clarity data models, or other clinical or financial data systems
- Strong understanding of data design, architecture, relational databases and data modeling
- Python, R, SQL, SAS, SPSS, Stata or similar software for statistical analysis and data science
