WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
The Telecom Engineer will demonstrate their significant expertise and account management skills in proactively supporting internal clients to ensure timely and successful implementation of telecom service orders and larger projects. Provide customized coordination, project planning, and communication between customers, carriers, engineers, operations, GNOC and internal groups to ensure high levels of customer satisfaction. This Engineer must possess and/or acquire an in-depth knowledge of chosen carrier’s telecom products, systems, and technologies. Knowledge and understanding of licensing compliance rules, retrieval, and experience in interpreting end-user license and product use agreements.
WHAT YOU WILL WORK ON
You will conduct licensing audits, identify and resolve potential compliance issues relating to vendor contract requirements and to information technology asset management (ITAM) policies and procedures. As well as, coordinating with other teams to identify and correct assets anomalies and ensure compliance in the various groups.
This Engineer will perform data collection and analysis of all global technology – hardware throughout the enterprise in order to identify, analyze and recommend changes to hardware purchases, inventories, reporting including decommissioning and asset recovery to mitigated associated risks.
You will also assist with policies and processes throughout the entire lifecycle including requisitions, provisioning, logistics, deployment receipt, identification, categorizations, recording, reporting, and documentation of IT assets to include hardware telephony, mobile, and IoT assets.
Participates in the development for configuring, designing, maintaining and supporting the asset management system (CMDB) for service life-cycle management; ensures appropriate updates are made to the asset management system. Provide management with recommendations for updates to the development of asset standards that include the identification, classification, and control of assets including asset recovery and decommissioning. Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

The candidate will not be managing anyone in the foreseeable future. This candidate will report to the Global Director of Asset Management. Primary liaise will be to the remaining Telephony domain teams.
Autonomy: This candidate will be interacting with all teams and divisions of Nike, Inc. (Networking, Finance, AP/AR, Infrastructure, Deskside, GEO’s, etc.. requests can come from anyone or anywhere.
Financial responsibility: Employee will ensure service orders comply with company policy. Employee will validate that all standard and non-standard pricing has been approved before submission. Employee will inform customers of charges associated with supplemental requests and will ensure supplemental charges are added to the service order when applicable.
Internal & external contacts
- External: Carrier Order Management, AEs, Sales Managers & Directors, GMs, NOC front-line employees & managers.
- Internal: Customer decision-maker, administrative and technical personnel. Third-party vendor administrative and technical personnel. NOC front-line employees and managers.
- 10+ years telecommunications industry experience including implementation and milestone management (service order lifecycle management).Basic LAN/WAN Networking skills preferred.
- Strong computer skills; word processing, and excel.
- Professional/accurate/persuasive written and verbal communication and negotiation skills.
- Strong analytical skills and an intuition for business.
- Time management, task prioritization and problem-solving skills required, including organizational abilities that facilitate multiple activity management;
- Strong demonstrated knowledge of; Service provider’s products, services, provisioning processes.
- Service provider processes (RBOC, LEC/PTT, ISP, Global-Regional Carriers)
- General technical knowledge of traditional voice (domestic and International), MPLS, Internet, integrated solutions, and access services. Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Understanding of core IT network infrastructure and retail back of house infrastructures
- Big data experience
- Knowledge of concepts, practices, and procedures of Asset Management
- ITIL/ITAM or related certification a plus
