Who are we looking for

We’re looking for a Metrics Data Engineer to join our Governance team. This role will demonstrate knowledge of data analysis, automation, and visualization to support Nike’s Corporate Information Security organization. You will play a key role in ensuring that security controls are effectively measured, monitored, and communicated to Nike’s senior leaders.

What will you work on

If this is you, you’ll be performing these key tasks:

  • Build automated data pipelines using industry-standard technology.
  • Curate and manage data storage repositories to ensure data integrity and availability.
  • Perform root cause analysis to troubleshoot and proactively resolve failures of business intelligence platform.
  • Integrate business intelligence platform with visualization software and other peripheral technology.
  • Design and implement new features in collaboration with subject matter experts.

Who will you work with

You will report to the Director of NIKE Corporate Information Security Governance and will be a part of the metrics function within the Governance team. You will collaborate with leadership in CIS, Global Technology and Nike business teams.

What you bring

  • I have a Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Information Security/Assurance, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field of study, or any combination of relevant equivalent experience, education and training.
  • Experience programming with Python or similar language.
  • Experience with git or similar version control systems.
  • Experience with setup and maintenance of AWS EC2 instances.
  • Experience with SQL relational databases.
  • Experience with data visualization software such as Tableau or Power BI.
  • Experience building automated data pipelines.
  • Able to quickly pick up new programming languages, technologies, and frameworks.
  • Comfortable working with ambiguity.
  • Exceptional communication skills, including the ability to gather relevant data and information, actively listen, dialogue freely, verbalize ideas effectively, negotiate tense situations successfully, and manage and resolve conflict.
  • Must excel working in team-oriented roles that rely on ability to collaborate.
  • Experience working successfully in a high matrix organization.
  • Remote Work Option – Open to remote work, except cannot work in South Dakota, Vermont, and West Virginia. These candidates will be required to relocate.

For employees based in Colorado, this position starts at $76,000 per year. Information about benefits
