We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer, Near Real-time Data, GAP who excels in team environments and are excited about building cloud native platforms that can scale with the demand of our business. This role is part of Global Architecture & PaaS, Global Platforms aggressively innovates solutions to drive growth while creating and implementing tools that help make everything else in the company possible. The candidate needs to have a strong understanding of technical concepts, excellent attention to detail, data accuracy, and data analysis, strong verbal and written communication skills, and be self-motivated and operates with a high sense of urgency and a high level of integrity.
WHAT WILL YOU WORK ON
Near Real-Time Data (NRTD) Platform is a central nervous system for real-time data ingestion, streaming, processing and analytics which enables high throughput, low-latency, fault-tolerant enterprise streaming capability of delivering trillions of events per day. After joining the team, you will be building a fully monitored, managed and scalable platform, that will allow Nike engineers to automatically provision Apache Kafka and other technology clusters effortlessly to accelerate delivering applications consuming real-time data. You will also have the ability to contribute to NRTD Platform’s micro-services based orchestration layer.
WHO WILL YOU WORK WITH
This role is part of the Global Architecture & PaaS and work with Near Real-Time Data Integration team
- Masters’ or Bachelors degree in Computer Science or a related field
- 3-4 Years of experience in Software Development
- Solid experience in languages – Go, JavaScript, Java and other optional
- languages such as Python
- Experience in building large-scale, production grade, reliable, and highly
- available cloud native software
- Understanding of Docker, Kubernetes or other container technologies
- Experience with AWS (preferred), Azure, GCP or other
- Experience building APIs using micro services architecture
- Experience with software engineering practices of domain driven designs,
- API first development, test driven development, CI/CD style of
- deployments, embedding observability into software built
- Experience in distributed software monitoring, application performance
- monitoring & its visual representation.
- Experience with data streaming platforms (i.e., Apache Kafka, Apache
- Flink, Apache NiFi, Apache Pinot).
