As an integral part of the Inventory Flow team, the Data Analyst 2, is responsible for designing and executing analytical solutions with a focus on exhaust inventory and inventory movement across all nodes. The ideal candidate is a self-starter and strong technical contributor who is always looking for new opportunities to solve business problems with data-driven tools. The individual should be highly curious about the business and possess the skills to unlock rich, nuanced insights from complicated data and communicate those insights in a way that drives positive business outcomes.
A day in the life…
- Build credibility and partner with multiple cross-functional teams to understand business needs, create meaningful reports, and perform ad-hoc analyses
- Dive deep into complex business problems and provide insights on merch performance by building and enhancing BI tools and performing descriptive analysis
- Contribute to the development and execution of strategic projects for Inventory Flow and other related Supply Chain initiatives
- Work closely on strategic initiatives with key stakeholders to gather feedback, deliver recommendations, and drive the business while building trust
- Leverage data and analytics to identify areas of opportunity within key strategies, share insights to broader organization, and present point of view with the goal to uncover new ways of thinking about assortments and category plans
- Communicate and present findings through visualizations and reports in a clear and meaningful way
- Provide exceptional customer service through professionalism, ownership, and initiative
- Demonstrate productivity through the efficient use of time and a commitment to strong results

- A strong mindset surrounding process definition and continuous improvement across JWN
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, dealing with ambiguity, engaging stakeholders in a productive and positive way, and setting the course for the business to help drive JWN growth
- Intermediate to Advanced proficiency with data visualization tools and techniques (Tableau preferred)
- Strong business acumen and experience with merchandising and retail
- Bachelors Degree in a quantitative field (or equivalent experience)
- 2+ years of experience in extracting & manipulating large data sets from various relational databases using SQL (Teradata preferred)
- Experience maintaining efficient QA processes to ensure the accuracy and quality of data
- Ability to efficiently query and derive concise/actionable insights from large volumes of data
- Clear and effective written and verbal communication and strong interpersonal skills.
