A Day in The Life
As a Business Intelligence Analyst, you will work with stakeholders, IT, and peers to drive key data driven decisions. Your principal duties will be gathering and analyzing data from multiple data sources to curate reports and dashboards that measure business performance and provide decision support to the Marketing and Operations sectors of the organization. You will often communicate and present findings with Norfolk Southern personnel and peers.
Job Responsibilities
- Writing SQL, and developing dashboards in BI tools such as Tableau, TIBCO Spotfire, Power BI, or Reporting Services
- Collaborate with business users at Marketing and Operations on the requirements, design, and development of the reports and dashboards
- Demonstrate an ability to effectively present information and document requests
- Strong conceptual thinking and problem-solving skills
- Work closely with business users and IT on facilitating and managing small projects
- Demonstrate autonomy to manage project timelines and set expectations
- Ability to work within an Agile development structure utilizing Atlassian JIRA (Kanban)
- Ability to communicate findings, and provide clear documentations
Qualifications/ Skills
- Strong knowledge of Relational database
- Working experience on writing queries using SQL (MS SQL Server, Teradata, DB2)
- Experienced in data analysis, manipulation, and visualization
- Familiarity with the concepts of data model and data warehouse
- Experience working with Integration services, or any other ETL tool is a plus
Education/Experience
Minimum Level: Bachelor’s (BS)
