Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems sector (NGAS) is seeking a People Analytics Manager 2. This position reports to the Corporate Director, People Analytics, Insights & Technology and will have dotted line reporting responsibility to the Aeronautics Systems HR Vice President.
People Analytics, Insights & Technology is a team of data scientists, behavioral research scientists, insight analysts, competitive intelligence analysts, and technologists who use science to inform our most important people decisions and to enable an industry leading employee experience. As the leader of the People Analytics team supporting the Aeronautics Systems Sector, you will be responsible for leveraging the entire range of our analytics capabilities to refine and enable the Aeronautics Systems Sector people strategy.
This role can be located in Falls Church, VA, Palmdale, CA, or Melbourne, FL. Fully remote with approximately 25% travel is also possible for the right candidate.
As Manager of People Analytics for Aeronautics Systems, you will be entrepreneurial, creative, and ethically conscious as we work to advance our mission to develop and deliver the insight needed to inform our investments in our employees and design optimal employee experiences. You will be a critical and strategic thinker who helps advance the people strategy of Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems by expanding our analytic capability and accelerating HR’s transformation to more effectively serve our employees as customers and consumers. You will collaborate across the sector and business to uncover data-driven insights to solve business challenges across the talent lifecycle and enable transformational change.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Serving on the Aeronautics Systems Sector Senior Leadership Team to optimize the use of analytics in driving the sector’s people strategy
- Serving on the People Analytics, Insights, & Technology leadership team to bring sector specific business needs forward to inform our enterprise people analytics strategy
- Identifying and delivering strategic analyses and research needed to enable the Aeronautics Systems Sector talent acquisition, development, and retention goals
- Integrating, tailoring, and applying corporate analytics capability for the benefit of the sector
- Identifying, articulating, and defending team priorities
- Communicating results to an executive audience to effectively tell the data story
- Network and collaborate with other sector/program analytics teams and the Digital Transformation Office to meet business objectives
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience OR Master’s degree with a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience OR PhD with a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience
- Solid organizational skills, particularly in managing multiple project priorities simultaneously
- Demonstrated experience using analytics to inform business decisions
- Understanding of HR domain areas, such as recruiting, compensation, performance, learning and development, and HR metrics
- Ability to extract and manipulate data from databases (e.g., SQL)
- Ability to use statistical programming languages (e.g., R, Python)
- Proficient in data visualization using Tableau or similar visualization tool
- Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance and Special Program Access within a reasonable amount of time, as determined by the company to meet its business need
Preferred Qualifications:
- Strong people leadership skills in an analytics capacity
- Ability to communicate effectively to stakeholders across the business
- Expertise in strategy development and business management
- Understanding of competitive intelligence / research approaches
- Solid statistical understanding and exposure to more advanced analytics, such as machine learning
- Knowledge of the aerospace industry
- Experience with Workday system
This position reports to Falls Church, VA, USA, however, you are able to work from any of the additional 4 locations listed above.
