About the department
The Global Safety department within the Global Business Services is responsible for processing ICSRs and for performing Safety Surveillance activities. Global safety has an outstanding track-record in case processing and writing/publishing aggregate reports. You will join a team of highly motivated employees, responsible for the safety of the patients.
The Job
As an Safety Data Analyst, your key responsibilities in this role will be to design, develop, implement, and maintain applications. You will function as a sparring partner for requester regarding solution design and specification of URS and create the Functional design specification (FDS). You will be supposed to estimate resource demands for own participation in developing/maintaining prioritised requests/ releases/ projects (incl. bug fixing) and contribute for proper time planning for the development/maintenance work including meeting activities.
You will develop and maintain IT applications according to URS/FDS and within agreed timeline by following SRSS IT development standards and strive to develop generic solutions in alignment with the rest of the “Development” function. You will be collaborating closely with Validation/requester for testing and validation activities as needed. You will ensure implementation and roll out in collaboration with Application owners/super-users and the “Support & training” function as needed. You will also contribute to IT strategy by critically evaluating existing solutions for future needs and suggesting optimization. You will document applications according to existing processes.
Qualifications
The below knowledge, skills and experience will be required:
- University degree in a computer science/pharmaceutical science discipline or other relevant background
- 0 – 4 years of relevant working experience with one or more of the key professional competencies
- Strong technical competencies required in data management, data analysis, business Intelligence, application development, solution architecture, Advanced analytics/ Text mining/ machine learning, System management and LOB process understanding
- Good hands-on experience in Business Intelligence tools (Qliksense, PowerBI…)
- Competency to use Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
- Fluent in written and spoken English
- Strong analytical mind-set, Proactive and goal orientated
- Well-organised and strive for excellence & Quality
- Structured and attention to details
- Ability and willingness to quickly adjust to changes in a continuously developing environment
- Excellent coordination and planning skills
- Good stakeholder management skills and act as a role model
- Accountable and flexible

- Cross-cultural awareness
- Excellent communication skills, Fluent in both written and spoken English
