Summary:
The Director of Data Management & Reporting is responsible for the technical implementation of the DMAO suite of tools across Nuvance Health. The director works in coordination with leadership to define the short- and long-term strategies for the DMAO program to ensure effective delivery of information that meets current and future requirements. The director coordinates the day-to-day activities of the DMAO technical team which sets & establishes data reporting standards, tools, and content aligned with the strategic needs of the company. This leader will facilitate the timely delivery of key content, detailed requirements documentation, and the alignment of informatic tools for all of Nuvance Health.
Responsibilities:
- Manages the deployment, monitoring, maintenance, development, upgrade and support of DMAO systems including data integration with external vendors and solutions
- Oversees demand queue for DMAO requests working with leadership and stakeholders to ensure proper prioritization of new requests and updating in progress requests
- Collaborates with business partners to pioneers emerging technologies and assist with deployment for innovation to promote self-service and predictive insights.
- Drafts requirement documentation for analytic and dashboard requests and coordinate the correct resources to bring to bear on a project or request. Work with the team to effectively communicate timelines, challenges and opportunities to streamline work.
- Demonstrates strong partnerships with internal IT resources that support the solution stack such as Networking, Security and Infrastructure
- Demonstrates ability to maintain and oversee relationship with vendors supporting cloud technologies and data solutions. Provide feedback to DMAO leadership on value and keep the vendors accountable for delivery of work based on scope and requirements
- Understands the mapping of the various data feeds and reporting tools in production across the enterprise, and make suggestions on streamlining efforts for optimal efficiency, productivity, and cost.
- Assists leadership with budgeting and organizational fiscal responsibilities for day to day operations of the group
- Assists in goal development with leadership to help set DMAO strategic priorities and to help review the performance of the group.
- Assists in the development of productivity metrics and monitor the team’s productivity.

Education and Experience Requirements:
- Master’s degree or equivalent experience
- Minimum often 10 years information systems experience, 5 years in a healthcare system.
- Minimum 3 to 5 years management experience in a healthcare environment.

- Health Care Expertise: An understanding of operational health care delivery systems and the current health care landscape.

- Familiarity and comfort with information technology-based operational improvement. Health care management or consulting experience preferred.
Analytics and Strategy: Knowledge of business intelligence best practices, familiarity with fact-based management tools and techniques to drive strategies and a continuous improvement culture. Leverage data to support and understand business challenges, and provide quantifiable answers to business leaders through data tools and techniques.
- Communications: Excellent written and verbal communications skills. Ability to take abstract, complex and/or technical information and break it down for a variety of audiences in a way that is meaningful for them.
- Information Technology Expert familiarity in technologies, functionality, and outcomes improvement related to scope of Information Technology responsibilities

Minimum Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Requirements:
- Working knowledge of EMR systems including but not limited to system wide hospital or ambulatory information systems.
- Knowledge of problem analysis, structured analysis and design, and programming techniques
- Business acumen, and the ability to communicate to executives, business domain stakeholders, and technical staff alike
- Experience with innovation and ideation methods, such as design thinking
- Experience with programming languages and cloud technologies
- Applied knowledge of project management delivery, capital and operational budgeting
- Ability to partner with executive stakeholders and customers
