Job Location: Austin, TX
Position Description:
This position can be located in Missouri, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Texas, or Kansas. This position will be eligible for remote work with some travel or office meetings as needed. You will participate in all aspects of the software development lifecycle, specifically for Enterprise Geographic Information Systems. You will need strong analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as interpersonal and customer service skills to work with GIS users at all levels of experience. This is an IT position. You will report to the Manager of IT GIS and collaborate with different departments around the organization.
What You Will Do
Participate in most aspects of software enhancement for packaged applications, including configuration, testing and maintenance activities.
Collaborate with important process owners on the documentation of application defects, enhancements and projects.
Configure, test, deploy, and maintain software as prioritized by the business including creating and updating system documentation and training materials around an application suite.
Gather and document requirements from users to determine the capabilities that need to be delivered. Consult with the users on the priorities, complexities and other impacts of the requirements. Provide time and cost estimates for proposed changes.
Identify opportunities to deploy existing solutions in other departments.
Coordinate and communicate development activities with other team members, infrastructure personnel and vendors and communicate to management.
Follow defined change control and compliance procedures associated with software development, including all required documentation and governance standards.
Work with our users by consulting and training to ensure effective use of technology solutions.

What You Will Need
Bachelor’s degree in MIS, computer science, mathematics, other related field, or an equivalent combination of formal education and the following job related experience to include:
Ability with multiple development languages and platforms.
Demonstrated understanding of:

GIS Database maintenance, role, and privileges

Common geoprocessing tasks in a Utility
-
ESRI versioning
-
GIS software, workflow, and user support troubleshooting
Technical Skills needed:

ArcGIS Desktop (Editing, Geometric Network, Analysis, User Support) (5+ years)

ArcGIS SDE with versioning (3+ years)
-
ArcGIS Pro (2+ years)
-
ESRI ArcGIS Enterprise (1+ years)
Ability in software development and programming concepts/techniques.
Ability working with database management systems.
Working knowledge of most aspects of the software development lifecycle methodology and basic project management concepts.
Working knowledge of basic infrastructure concepts and how those concepts are impacted by development activities.
Working knowledge of application of math, algebra, and statistical methods.
Experience in use and function of office equipment including computers and applicable software.
Experience working and advising.
Experience developing information, conducting meetings and making presentations.
Read and write fluently in English.
Use office tools and equipment.
Communicate and exchange information or instructions; conduct oral presentations and meetings.
Visual abilities to perform job responsibilities.
