Positions in this function conduct and manage outcomes of various studies that include analyzing, reviewing, forecasting, trending, and presenting information for operational and business planning. They support short and long term operational/strategic business activities – by developing, enhancing and maintaining operational information and models. They also develop and implement effective/strategic business solutions through research and analysis of data and business processes. Generally work is self-directed and not prescribed.

Primary Responsibilities:
- Present analysis and recommendations for operational and business review/planning
- Support short- and long-term operational/strategic business activities through analysis
- Develop, recommend and implement business solutions through research and analysis of data and business processes
- Develops and maintains audit controls, key client and management reporting
- Presents recommended process improvement solutions through research and analysis of data and implements when appropriate including BRD creation and UAT testing
- Defines, coordinates and implements new reporting, and manages existing reporting as requested by Optum Business Operations leadership and external clients/customers
- Duties may include coaching Providers and Clients for accurate file submission and error resolution
- Works with less structured, more complex issues
- Serves as a resource to others

Required Qualifications:
- 2+ years of recent experience in a business analyst or finance analyst role
- Healthcare industry experience
- Understanding of healthcare claims processing
- Proficiency with creating/writing/modifying SQL queries
- Proficiency with MS Office (including Outlook, Word, and Excel)
- Knowledge of relational databases, database structures, and stored procedures

Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree
- Experience with EDI 837 and response processing
- Experience with SSIS (Sql Server Information Services)
- Ability to research conflicting and/or inaccurate data and determine root cause
- Ability to communicate analysis including trends and opportunities to clients in writing and verbally

Colorado, Connecticut or Nevada Residents Only: The salary range for Colorado residents is $66,100 to $118,300. The salary range for Connecticut / Nevada residents is $72,800 to $129,900.
