Primary Responsibilities:
- Data Design and Management
- Applies engineering principles to create databases that optimize the ability to extract, store and manipulate data for consumption by other applications
- Develops and implements scripts for maintenance, monitoring and performance tuning of database
- Understands data structures and common methods to transform data for further analysis
- Uses modern tools and techniques
- Stays current with evolving technologies
- Designs scalable Extract, Transform and Load (ETL) packages
- Leverages automated processes to provide operational support
- Defines and builds enterprise-wide standard data models
- Normalizes and streamlines data across different domains/systems
- Designs, builds, tests, and adapts solutions to optimize environments and meet evolving needs of customers and business, leveraging and anticipating modern technologies, e.g., AI/ML, to support the transition to full stack proficiency
- Data Engineering
- Understands all the connected technology services and their impacts
- Assesses design and proposes options to ensure solution meets business needs in terms of security, scalability, reliability, and feasibility
- Collaborates with relevant stakeholders to achieve business outcomes
- Designs and builds services to allow them to be automated

Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software, or computer engineering, applied math, physics, statistics, or a related field, but will consider experience in combination with alternative educational background
- 3 + years working with relational databases and developing automated pipelines to move, stage and clean datasets
- 5 + years of experience writing complex SQL (Oracle preferred) including queries, procedures, and packages
- 3 + years of experience working with ETL tools and confident writing scripts to automate data processing

- Agile/Scrum environment experience
- PERL, C++, or Python experience Focus and attention to detail

Colorado, Connecticut or Nevada Residents Only: The salary range for Colorado residents is $66,100 to $118,300. The salary range for Connecticut / Nevada residents is $72,800 to $129,900. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
