Primary Responsibilities:
- Help manage production and development environments consisting of MySQL databases on x86
- Work independently to ensure that the applications are operating efficiently, and to ensure that service levels are maintained and delivered
- Assist in the administration of other platform software
- Comply with the terms and conditions of the employment contract, company policies and procedures, and any and all directives (such as, but not limited to, transfer and/or re-assignment to different work locations, change in teams and/or work shifts, policies in regards to flexibility of work benefits and/or work environment, alternative work arrangements, and other decisions that may arise due to the changing business environment). The Company may adopt, vary or rescind these policies and directives in its absolute discretion and without any limitation (implied or otherwise) on its ability to do so
Required Qualifications:
- Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience.
- 3 – 5 years of experience with relational database delivery
- Hands-on experience installing, configuring, supporting, patching and supporting on MySQL databases
- Experience with hands on daily Routine DBA operations tasks
- In-depth knowledge of database internals
- Knowledge of installation, configuration, patching, maintenance and tuning of all MySQL database systems to include 5.7 or higher environments
- Ability to maintain and ensure availability for multiple production and development MySQL Database environments
- Ability to resolve help desk tickets as assigned and provide 24-hour on-call support for problem analysis and resolution to system problems on a rotational basis
- Ability to perform effective and independent incident and problem resolution for databases and applications
- Ability to trouble shoot GI, Database and performance tuning issues in Standalone and Cluster environment
- Ability to develop shell scripts and/or jobs to perform routine database administration tasks
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with customers, team members and management
- Ability to maintain an effective relationship with customers, team members and management
- Ability to provide input in the development of tools and processes to increase team productivity
- Ability to patch and support Oracle databases
- Intermediate level Performance tuning experience with a good understanding of database statistics, Locks & Blocking sessions, Explain plan analysis, Server resource monitoring etc.
- Strong in handling all types of backups, refreshes and recovery procedures
- Well acquaintance with different ORA errors and their resolution
- Ready to work in any shift as per the organizational needs
Preferred Qualifications:
- Hands-on on automation tools like shell/python/Ansible/chef
- Working knowledge on Exadata systems
