This is an exciting role in the growing Optum Home and Community division within UnitedHealth Group. This role will primarily be responsible for operational support and analysis activities related to a facility relationship management system that the Home and Community business and clinical teams utilize. Key activities include managing support requests, facilitating requirements discovery and elicitation for strategic reporting initiatives, business process and reporting, as well as partnering with various business and technical stakeholders to develop innovative reporting solutions.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Ability to elicit business needs and define requirements for reporting solutions which includes driving consensus across multiple stakeholders who often have different priorities and needs as well as providing guidance for business stakeholders as needed to clarify requirements and presentation, format & layout options for the information
  • Facilitate working sessions with various types of business and technical stakeholders with a goal of documenting clear and concise requirements to ensure accuracy with all stakeholders
  • Ability to present analysis and interpretation of findings for operational and business review, planning and new product development
  • Partner with BI & Report development resources to design and prototype innovative solutions
  • Support an iterative report development process and serve as a liaison between the BI developers and the business
  • Support end-users with answering questions, developing training materials and conducting training activities as needed
  • Develop proven methodologies to measure projects post-delivery to demonstrate ROI success

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Technology, Engineering, Business, Finance, Health Administration, related field, or 4+ equivalent work experience
  • 2+ years Business analysis experience
  • Solid experience with facilitating requirement gathering activities
  • Experience documenting business requirements and processes according to project needs or established methodologies and communicate them in a clear manner across a variety of partners (business, BI, QA)
  • Proficient in creating business process and data flows diagrams using tools such as MS Visio and Erwin

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Health Administration
  • 2+ years of experience in healthcare payer, clinical domain or similar preferred
  • Experience supporting health care-specific business intelligence and reporting needs
  • Experience working within an agile (i.e., Scrum or Kanban) framework and familiarity with user story definition
  • Comfortable leading complex projects operating in a matrixed environment with limited direction
  • Comfortable with frequent refinements in priorities and scope
  • Data Centric mindset versed in relational databases and basic data architecture, ability to read/write SQL in Microsoft SQL Server
  • Familiarity with change management concepts (communications, training materials and activities, etc.)
  • Exposure to new product development lifecycle concepts
  • Familiarity with data visualization best practices and techniques, and desire to build this skill

Colorado, Connecticut or Nevada Residents Only: The hourly range for Colorado residents is $26.15 to $46.63. The hourly range for Connecticut / Nevada residents is $28.85 to $51.30. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
