Primary Responsibilities:
- Requirement gathering and analysis, development, support, maintenance and implementation
- Participate in knowledge sharing sessions and impart the training to fellow team members
- Further build upon domain knowledge and technical/ proprietary skills
- Guide new members in the team to help them scale up faster and performs other tasks as needed
- Install, migrate, upgrade and maintain multiple databases required for development, testing, and production environments
- Comply with the terms and conditions of the employment contract, company policies and procedures, and any and all directives (such as, but not limited to, transfer and/or re-assignment to different work locations, change in teams and/or work shifts, policies in regards to flexibility of work benefits and/or work environment, alternative work arrangements, and other decisions that may arise due to the changing business environment). Required Qualifications:
- Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience
- 8+ years of experience in database development and support in MS SQL Server environments
- Automation experience using Devops methodology
- Hands-on experience on any of the scripting languages like T-SQL, PowerShell, Python or Chef
- Experience with in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
- Experience with teams spread across multiple locations across multiple time zones
- Strong experience in Database Administration in SQL Server (2005,2008,2012,2014,2019)
- Understanding of execution plans and how to use them to optimize/improve query costs, indexing
- Key Skills:
- SQL Server Database Administration (SQL 2005/2008/2012/2014/2016)
- Good Knowledge on SSIS/SSRS/TSQL
- Good Knowledge on Database Migrations (Homogenous & Heterogenous)
- Automation Mindset and good knowledge in Agile methodologies
- Ability to troubleshoot problems regarding the databases, applications and development tools
- Ability to analyze and sustain capacity and performance requirements
- Ability to participate in 12×7 on call rotation
- Ability to implement best backup and recovery strategies in the environment
- Ability to work with Architecture team to establish coding standards for stored procedures, triggers, logical and physical schema design; approve complex structural changes to the database
- Ability to recommend database approaches and design to infrastructure and application teams
- Ability to prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment
- Ability to present ideas in user-friendly language
- Ability to forward thinking in the potential use of future technology
- Ability to help the team in technical support for the database environment including overseeing the development and organization of the databases, assessment and implementation of new technologies, and providing Information Technology with a long-term perspective on the relationship of database technology to the business opportunities facing the company. Knowledge of coaching, mentoring, hiring of appropriate resources to the team
- Excellent technical troubleshooting and consultation with quality assurance and development teams
- Self-motivated and directed, with keen attention to detail
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills as well as strong logical, analytical and problem-solving skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience on SSRS/ SSIS
- Knowledge on Python or Chef
