Primary Responsibilities:
- Design, implement and maintain Spark applications within all phases of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) using Spark/ Scala
- Develop, test, implement and maintain application software working with established processes
- Communicate effectively with other engineers
- Establish, refine and integrate development and test environment tools and software as needed
- Identify production and non-production application issues
- Identify opportunities to fine-tune and optimize applications of Spark applications
- Provide technical support and consultation for Spark application and infrastructure questions
- Design, code, test, debug, document and support all types of applications consistent with established specifications and business requirements to deliver business value
- Contribute to development team and help to achieve key business objectives
- Collaborate with the team on application architecture design and decision-making
- Design and implement application enhancements in collaboration with different teams
- Translate highly complex concepts in ways that can be understood by a variety of audiences
- Ensure timely deliveries for all assigned tasks as per SLA
- Participate in SCRUM meetings, Design reviews, Test Case reviews, and Production Support readiness reviews for new releases
- Achieve harmonious working relationships with business partners and within team
- Comply with the terms and conditions of the employment contract, company policies and procedures, and any and all directives (such as, but not limited to, transfer and/or re-assignment to different work locations, change in teams and/or work shifts, policies in regards to flexibility of work benefits and/or work environment, alternative work arrangements, and other decisions that may arise due to the changing business environment). Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Equivalent Degree
- 3 – 5 years of experience in Spark development
- Healthcare domain knowledge
- Working knowledge on Agile/Kanban methodology
- Knowledge on scheduler – preferably Apache oozie
- Good understanding of Hadoop eco system – Hive, Hbase, Sqoop
- Good in basic SQL writing skills
- Open to work in Operations support model if needed
- Ability to update/ modify/ create shell scripts to meet the application requirements
- Able to work independently with minimum lead supervision
- Able to design Technical Specification documents and provide review/walkthrough to the team
- Process improvement thinking
- Good in communication and able to handle client’s queries effectively
Preferred Qualification:
- Exposure on Apache oozie
