Job Location: San Mateo, CA

Key Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to the following:

• Work with stakeholders in an agile project management framework to plan, design, and execute projects leveraging AI/ML.

• Research and develop algorithms to address a variety of use cases including natural language processing, quantitative data analytics, computer vision, recommendation engines, predictive analytics, or numerical optimization.

• Query data from a variety of systems including noSQL and SQL database schema.

• Ingest data from disparate data sources into notebook environments and apply common data cleaning techniques to prototype business relevant datasets and views.

• Apply existing and novel models and techniques in various domains of machine learning including text analytics, computer vision, descriptive data analytics, time-series forecasting, and other advanced statistical models to optimize critical processes in clinical development and clinical trials.

• Showcase your work with a final poster board presentation near the conclusion of your internship

Required Qualifications:

• Must be at least 18 years old

• Must have a minimum GPA of 2.8

• Authorized to work in the United States without Sponsorship now or in the future

• Must be currently enrolled as a full-time student in a Bachelor’s/Masters/MBA/PhD program at an accredited US based university or college

• Must be a Rising Sophomore, Junior, or Senior in undergrad or a Graduate or Doctoral Student

• Must be enrolled full-time in the Fall Semester at an accredited university/college after the completion of the internship

• Must be able to complete a 10-12 consecutive week internship between May and August

• Must be able to relocate if necessary and work at the designated site for the duration of the internship

• Must show proof of full COVID-19 vaccination and first booster shot

Preferred Qualifications:

• Proficiency with MS Office Suite

• Ability to identify issues and seek solutions

• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively

• Demonstrated commitment to inclusion and diversity in the workplace

• Efficient, organized, and able to handle short timelines in a fast-paced environment

• Understanding of model evaluation & scoring including avoidance of model bias

• Python & SQL programming skill

• Experience with common AI/ML packages including Scikit Learn, PyTorch, and Tensorflow, XGBoost
