Define, design, and implement network communications and solutions within a fast-paced, leading edge database/applications company.
Monitor the fundamental server/network capacity. Determine the characteristics of a problem and either resolve the problem immediately and/or record, escalate, and track the problem through to closure and to the customer’s satisfaction.
Work involves some problem solving with assistance and guidance in understanding and applying company policies and procedures. BS in Computer Science or related field.
Oracle University (OU) provides technical training courses across the entire Oracle product range through Instructor led, digital and self-learning technical training events.
The OUIT EDAS (Education, Development Automation and Support) organization, working in a DevOps methodology, provides 24×7 global support and development of the technical lab environments and infrastructure. This infrastructure exists across OnPrem and OCI platforms.
As member of the global OUIT EDAS team, your responsibilities will include:
Providing direct technical support to customers, partners, instructors and individuals to resolve issues reported when taking Oracle University training.
Infrastructure monitoring and resolution through QA (quality assurance) processes
Development of new lab environments using Oracle Cloud technologies.
Contributing to new project initiatives, typically as part of a virtual team
Working on a rotating shift based arrangement as part of the 24×7 support structure
Attending scheduled team and technical meetings
This is a customer-facing role in a collaborative environment requiring a high degree of interpersonal and communication skills. Self-drive, Innovative thinking and a flexible approach are important characteristics to be successful to grow in this role and beyond.
It is an expectation that individuals in this role are adaptable to future change depending on the demands from the business. These changes may require alterations to the example responsibilities above and flexibility over the working hours.
Technical Knowledge and skills
Working experience with Linux OS including installation and troubleshooting
Windows general troubleshooting – understanding Event Viewer logs, Windows
Knowledge and understanding of networking principles.
Familiarity with Oracle database concepts
Knowledge and understanding of containerization and virtualization – Docker
Hands-on experience with automation tools such as Ansible, GitLab, Jenkins
Experience in one (or more) scripting languages: Python, JavaScript, Unix Shell
Advanced troubleshooting skills; passion for problem-solving and investigation
Qualifications
A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent
Strong written and verbal communication skills in English
Strong personal commitment to quality and customer service excellence
1-3 years and above of experience working as a technical support or development engineer
Knowledge and understanding of AGILE methodology. Fresher’s with outstanding technical skills will also be considered .
